     Roger Dale Brown Roger Dale Brown, 75, of Ravencliff, WV, passed away on Sunday August 9, 2020 at Cornerstone Specialty Hospital, Huntington, WV. He was born on December 25, 1944 in Tipple, WV a son of the late Basil Brown and the late Jessie Fay Tolliver Simmons. Roger is a United States Vietnam Army Veteran, a member of the UMWA and attended the Ravencliff Church of the Living God. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Isaac Pat Brown; and step brother Bobby Simmons. Survivors include his wife of 47 years Rosetta Farmer Brown; three daughters Cindy Nicole Brown of Maben, Kristen Brown of Ravencliff and Courtney Brown of Ravencliff; two sons Roger Dale (Yolanda) Brown of MD and Nathiah Brown of Ravencliff; two aunts Darlene Swim and Norma Shumate; four grandchildren Lana Marie Brown, Roger Dale Brown, III, James Dalton Brown and Alayna Brown; two great grandchildren Holden and Masie; two nieces Ashley Blankenship and companion Matthew Newcomb of Oceana and Samantha (Bobby) Cook of Oceana; and a host of other loving family and friends.² He was born on December 25, 1944 at Tipple, Wyoming Co., West Virginia.^1,2 He married Brenda Kay Cook, daughter of Charles Elemuel Cook and Ruby Mildred Wall, on July 14, 1973 at Pearisburg, Giles Co., Virginia.¹ Roger Dale Brown died on August 9, 2020 at Huntington, Cabell Co., West Virginia, at age 75.²

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Pete" Luther Cook; a son, Charles "Chuck" Cook; her father, William Roy Sweeney, Sr; her mother, Juanita Kincaid Sweeney; a brother, William "J.R." Roy Sweeney; a sister, Connie Jean Sweeney; maternal grandparents, John and Effie Kincaid; paternal grandparents, George and Myrtle Sweeney; two nephews; and a niece. Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Charles Emery Cook of Oak Hill and Robert Lee Cook of Arcadia, FL; two daughters, Connie Lyons and husband, Larry and Terri Cook of Kearneysville; a grandson, Brian Lanham and his fiance, Aimee of Oak Hill; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a brother, Stanley Sweeney and wife, Tammy of MacArthur; five sisters, Sharon Sweeney of Durham, NC, Carol Nesmith and husband, Chuck of Metter, GA, Kathy Daniel and companion, Dawn of Boone, NC, Evelyn Smith and husband, Larry of Richmond Hill, GA, and Debra Covey of Mabscott; 20 nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews; extended family and a host of friends.
