Mr. Epperly was a retired insurance agent for the Prudential Life Insurance Company. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Huff Epperly. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda E. and James L. Kitchens; granddaughter, Elaine A. Kitchens, all of Winterville, Georgia; two brothers, Harley and Herbert Epperly, both of Floyd; two sisters, Madie Austin of Pilot and Lucille Shelor of Roanoke; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2000, in the Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. E. Eugene Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2000, in the Lotz Salem Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association. For Brenda, he was the best possible father and role model and was always gentle, loving, caring, and supportive to her and his brothers and sisters. on August 14, 2000.1

Kitchens, all of Athens, Ga; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Joy Huff, David and Lorine Huff and Curtis and Brenda Huff, all of Floyd; one sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Barry Sweeney of Floyd; one niece, Deanna Sowers of Floyd, and eight nephews, Eric Huff, Dennis Huff, Jody Harris and Jamie Sweeney, all of Floyd, Ray Huff of Roanoke, Jerry Huff and Wendell Huff of Christiansburg and Anthony Huff of Wyoming. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, at the Lotz Salem Chapel, with the Rev. C. Warner Crumb and the Rev. Edward Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Lotz Salem Chapel. on August 12, 1996.3
