Mr. Epperly was a retired insurance agent for the Prudential Life Insurance Company. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Huff Epperly. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda E. and James L. Kitchens; granddaughter, Elaine A. Kitchens, all of Winterville, Georgia; two brothers, Harley and Herbert Epperly, both of Floyd; two sisters, Madie Austin of Pilot and Lucille Shelor of Roanoke; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2000, in the Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. E. Eugene Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, at the Lotz Salem Chapel, with the Rev. C. Warner Crumb and the Rev. Edward Taylor officiating.      Howard George Miller Sr. was buried at Sunset Cemetery, 501 South Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.¹ He was born on March 24, 1926.² He married Doris Polk Reed circa 1947.¹ Howard George Miller Sr. died on July 22, 2010 at Virginia at age 84.¹ He Howard George Miller Sr., 84, of Christiansburg, Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 22, 2010. He was one of 11 siblings. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from the Radford Arsenal and Virginia Tech after many years of employment. Howard is survived by his wife, Doris, of 63 years; three children, son, Howard Miller Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Roanoke, son, Edward Miller Sr. and wife, Jean, of Christiansburg, and daughter, Linda Poff and husband, Phillip, of Riner. He was also survived by three grandchildren, Lisa St.Clair and husband, Brad, of Riner, Eddie Miller Jr. and wife, Jessica, of Riner, and Cristy Collins and husband, Joshua, of Christiansburg; three greatgrandchildren, Elijah St.Clair, Carter St.Clair and Emmy Collins; and three sisters, Opal McDaniel, of Pilot, Agnes Blevins, of Roanoke, and Margie Gray, of Roanoke. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. on July 24, 2010.¹
