He was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army Air Corp where he served as a military policeman. He was a member of the former Assemblies of God (Mt. Olivet Road), a member of Post #7 American Legion and a member of the VFW Post, #1184, Pulaski, Va. Surviving are: brother and sister-in-law, Allan Paris and Thelma G. Lindsey, Pulaski; special niece, Joyce Whitt, Radford; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with the Minister Michael Foutz officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin with full military honors conducted by the Pulaski VFW Post #1184, The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski. She was a retired employee of Jefferson Mills and worked several years during her retirement at Wendy's in Pulaski. She was a member of the Newbern Community Christian Church. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 2 at 11:00 a.m. from the Newbern Community Christian Church with Minister Ernie Depew officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.
