The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Wood Funeral Home, Floyd. on June 27, 1999.¹

Violet was preceded in death by her husband, L.E. "Jack" Forbes of Roanoke; son, Thomas A. Forbes of Fort Pierce, Fla; brothers, Alvin Link and Larry Link; and sister, Ernestine McElwee; as well as seven brothers-in-law and six sisters-in-law. Violet enjoyed cooking, gardening, archery as well as the friendships from working at Elizabeth Arden. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at Oakey's South Chapel on Brambleton Ave. A graveside funeral will be held at the Link Family Cemetery in Floyd, Va. at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19. A procession will leave Oakey's South Chapel at 1 p.m. Wednesday to go to the Link Family Cemetery for the graveside service. Arrangements are by Oakey's South Chapel (989-3131). on March 17, 2003.²
