Jones, 98, of Pilot, Va., was called home July 13, 2018 after a short illness. He was born August 29, 1919. Roy was married to the love of his life for 73 years and raised two beautiful children. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. A man of God Roy knew no enemy. A heart of gold, he always wore a smile. Roy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Jones; and his granddaughter, Shelly Collins. He is survived by his son, Clinton Jones; daughter, Sandra Manning and husband Ersal; grandchild, Casey Meador- Jones and wife, Laurie; three great grandchildren; his cat, Lucky; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 17 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. with the Rev.      Edward Lee Epperly was buried at Sunset Cemetery, 501 South Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.5 He was born on November 16, 1931 at Roanoke, Virginia.3 He married Dollie Mae Sumner on September 9, 1952 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.7,3 Edward Lee Epperly died on July 2, 2019 at Virginia at age 87.5 He Edward Epperly, 87, of Christiansburg, Va., went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on July 2, 2019 surrounded by his family, after a life that was well lived. He is survived by his faithful and loving wife of 66 years, Dollie Epperly; sons, Norman Epperly (Janet), Jerry Epperly (Angie); daughter, Sharon Flinchum (Wendell); grandchildren, Amy (Charlie), Jason (Melissa), Adam (Sheila), Haley (Caleb), and Renea; great-grandchildren, Sadie, Macy, and Aidan. Also surviving him are special niece, Nancy Robertson; along with many other wonderful nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonza and Myrtle Epperly; twin sister, Edna McFarland; sister, Dorothy Jones; and brother, Leonard Epperly. Edward was a faithful member, deacon and trustee of the Christian Fellowship Tabernacle since 1962. He proudly served his Country in the Unied States Army and the National Guard during the Korean War. Edward had a smile and a witty word for everyone he met which will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Commonwealth Assisted Living in Christiansburg, including Anna, Breanna, Debbie, Leanne, Lula, and many others too numerous to name. A special thank you to Tiler Smith, who adopted our 'Papa' as his own. The family would also like to extend their thanks to Medi Home Health and Hospice for their care. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Earnest Fulcher and Adam Abate officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. on July 3, 2019.5

Mr. Draper was born May 24, 1912 in Keystone, WV, a son of the late Alonzo Thomas and Sallie Conner Draper. He attended high school in Pocahontas and graduated from Dunsmore Business College. Mr. Draper was Secretary Treasurer of Stonewall Jackson Hotel prior to joining Clifton Forge-Waynesboro Telephone Company in 1941. In 1944 he was elected Company Secretary and Vice-President and Plant Manager in 1949. Mr. Draper was elected to the Board of Directors of Clifton Forge-Waynesboro Telephone Company in 1947 and was elected President of the company in 1963. He became Chairman of the Board in 1969 and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 1978. He retired in June of 1982. He served as President of the Virginia Independent Telephone Association, served on the Board of the Covington-Alleghany County Chamber Commerce, as a Director of United Virginia Bank/National Valley in Staunton and had been a member of Staunton Rotary Club. Mr. Draper had served as Chairman of the City Planning Commission; had been a member of the Board of the Country Club Staunton; served on the Board of Trustees of King's Daughters' Hospital and on the Advisory Board of Visitors at Mary Baldwin College. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Sally Draper of Staunton, a son, Dennis B. Draper, Jr., of New Hampshire and a granddaughter, Audry Lynn Flotz and her husband, T. J. Flotz of Pennsylvania, and a sister, Mary Lee Draper of Staunton. A graveside funeral service will be held in Thornrose Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Johnnie O. Miller, T. J. Flotz, George V. Bernard, Jesse A. Meadows, Meredith E. Yeago, and Paul Flanagan. on November 10, 1997.7

She was born Dec. 22, 1913, at Pocahontas, a daughter of Alonzo and Sallie (Conner) Draper. She retired as a general traffic manager from the Clifton Forge-Waynesboro Telephone Co. in 1979, after more than 35 years of service. Since 1943, she was an active member of Central United Methodist Church in various roles, including singing in the choir and playing piano for the Sunday school fellowship. Surviving are two nieces, Sally Draper of Staunton and Jeanette Nunnelly of Kentucky; a nephew, Dennis Draper of New Hampshire; and great-nieces. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A service will be conducted at Thornrose Cemetery on September 14, 1999.6

     Arthur Lewis Dillon Jr. was buried at Trinity Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Troutville, Botetourt Co., Virginia.3 He was born on June 1, 1928 at Roanoke, Virginia.2,3,4,5 He married Patricia Sue "Patty" Wills, daughter of Frederick Adair Wills and Merle Conner Pearman, on February 25, 1977 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,2,3 Arthur Lewis Dillon Jr. died on September 19, 2019 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 91.3 He Arthur Lewis Dillon Jr., 91, of Salem, Va., passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the Virginia Veterans Care Center in Roanoke. He was born on June 1, 1928 in Roanoke, Va. to the late Arthur Lewis Dillon, Sr. and Danie Francis Firebaugh Dillon. Following graduation from William Fleming High School in 1946, Art enlisted in the United States Navy, serving during WWII aboard the USS Coral Sea aircraft carrier. After serving 2 years, he enrolled, and graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelors in Business Administration with the help of the G.I. bill. Art later retired after numerous years of service as a real estate specialist with the U.S. Government. Along with his wife, he enjoyed numerous trips to countries abroad, as he thoroughly enjoyed traveling. Art was an inactive member with the Taylor Masonic Lodge # 23, as well as the Kazim Shriners Temple in Roanoke. Above all, Art will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He will be missed! In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by his sister, Dreama Dillon Dunn. Family remaining to cherish his memory include his wife of 42 years, Patricia Wills Dillon; sons, Lewis and Stuart Dillon; daughters, Katherine Dillon Greene and Patricia M. Dillon; step children, Katheryn Surface Burks and Michael Surface; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Inurnment will follow in the Trinity Church of the Brethren Cemetery located in Troutville where military rights will be rendered. on September 25, 2019.3
