He was born on January 18, 1943, in Christiansburg, Va. to Herman and Hazel Correll. He graduated from Christiansburg High School and Virginia Tech. In November of 1971, during a stint as an insurance salesman, he met Alice Cox; she did not buy the life insurance but she was enamored of the salesman-they were married five months later, absolutely thrilling her mother. Frank, Jr., appeared six years later. Throughout the years he was a member of the Kiwanis Club, and on the boards of United Way, Stonewall Jackson Hospital and Kendal at Lexington. Following his retirement from a career in banking, he found fulltime enjoyment monitoring the golf course with friends, reading history and cheering the Hokies to periodic football glory. Frank is survived by his wife, Alice; and son, Frank; and a niece Harriet; and nephew, Guy. on June 23, 2018.3

Rev. Everett Elwood Shepherd Reverend Everett Elwood Shepherd, age 85, of Christiansburg, VA, stepped onto Hallelujah Square on Monday, March 22, 2021. He heard the call of His Heavenly Father saying “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Everett ministered for over forty years, with unwavering faith doing the work of the Lord in this community that he loved so much. He pastored for several years at Ellett Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church, and most recently at New River Holiness church. Over the years he evangelized at numerous churches, also ministering in nursing homes. He lived his life to the fullest, doing the things he loved most. Riding motorcycles and horses, playing his guitar and singing bluegrass gospel. He was a skilled crane operator for many years, a job he enjoyed so much, retiring from Radford Arsenal. Above all, he loved spending time with family and friends, never failing to talk about his love for Jesus with each and every one. Everett was preceded in death by his one and only child, Larry Gene Shepherd; father and mother, Edward M. Shepherd and Helen Caldwell Shepherd; sisters, Ruth Moore, Nita ‘Eunice’ Burk, Louise Sarver, Claudine “Dean” Henderson, and Conston Spradlin; brothers, Paul ‘Harvey’, Archie and Marshall Shepherd. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with John Tibbs and Rodney Linkous officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service. If there were ever any words that Everett would want to say to friends and family, it would be to make sure you are ready to go to heaven. “And we’ll all live forever, in Hallelujah Square” Our family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Good Samaritan Hospice for their kind and loving assistance with helping our precious Everett make his transition to his heavenly home.4 He was buried at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 2880 North Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.4 He was born on January 30, 1936 at Vicker, Montgomery Co., Virginia.2,3 He married Norma Darleen/Darlene Linkous, daughter of William Lee Walter "Pete" Linkous and Louise Virginia Rush, on April 30, 1955 at Ellett, Montgomery Co., Virginia.5,6,7,2 Rev.
