Juanita Claudine Hall died on October 1, 2017 at Virginia at age 85.2 She Juanita Hall Grice, 85, of Salem, went home on Sunday, October 1, 2017. Preceding her in death were her parents, Claude and Reta Hall; and a son, Duane Grice. Her surviving family includes her husband of 65 years, Billy Grice; daughter, Aliene Hodges; and brothers, Cleon Hall (Martha) of Salem and Irving Hall (Nadene) of Chesterfield. Also surviving are those who called her "Noonie" including grandchildren, Kenny Hodges (Stephanie), Steven Hodges (Rebecca), and Sarah Myers (Jeremy); eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. There are several other special family members and friends who will cherish her memory. A period of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, in the funeral home's chapel. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at the Southwest Virginia Veteran's Cemetery in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to the New Grace Baptist Church Mission Fund at 1527 Gilford Ave, NW in Roanoke, Va. 24017. on October 3, 2017.2

Acord, formerly of Slab Fork, W.Va; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jo and Bob Nunley, Velma and Mack Gibson, Anne Crouch and Linda Bower; five stepsons and their wives, Jeff and Carol Acord, Ted and Dee Acord, Tim and Carol Acord, Clifton and Jennifer Acord and Glen and Jenny Acord; 12 step grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Ellen McGuyer, Shirley Walters, Glen Walters, Randy Gibson, Rita Orren, Vanessa Moore, Naomi Lagan, Denise Linkous, Cathy Stoner, Darshall Mabry, Donna Varner, Eric Bennett, Anita Orren and numerous cousins in Floyd County. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Huffville Cemetery in Floyd County. on June 2, 2019.9

Herb gained his heavenly wings and now joins his parents, Dallas Ford Sr. and Lilly Dale Alfred Bennett, and sisters, Joy Kanode and Ruby Agee. Herb was born in Austinville, Virginia. As a minister's son, the family moved frequently across Southwest Virginia before eventually settling in Christiansburg. He worked for VDOT, the Virginia Department of Transportation, Homer Cox Ford, and Marks and Associates before partnering with his cousin, Dale Byer to establish the survey company Byer, Bennett, and Associates. He was a member of Harbor of Hope Church, where he sang in the choir. He had an affinity for dogs including his beloved Labradors Bear and Jake and Border Collie Oakley. He is survived by his wife, Julia Young Bennett; sons, Eric Z. Bennett and wife, Peggy, and John H. King and wife, Mindy; and grandchildren, Darian Bennett, Alex Adams, Emily Graham, and Tyler Harrison. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. on November 29, 2020.3
