In addition to his parents, Luther was preceded in death by a brother, William Okes; a brother in-law, Franklin Scott; and a sister in-law, Francis Okes. A graduate of Auburn High School, Luther was affectionately known as "Mr. Nascar." He loved working in his garden and sharing the vegetables with his neighbors. He was an active person not mowing his yard but the neighbors' also. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for his neighbors and family. Luther could take a piece of junk and make something beautiful out of it. He proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post 16, a member of Moose Lodge 715 and a member of the Woodmen of the World. Luther retired from Intermet, where he worked for 48 years as a machinist and mechanic. Orville Perry Lawrence was buried at Hilltop Cemetery, Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia.6,3 He was born on September 17, 1922 at West Virginia.4 He died on July 15, 1936 at Rochester, Olmsted Co., Minnesota, at age 13.2,3 He Orville Perry Lawrence died in the Mayo Hospital at Rochester, Minn, shortly after noon, Wednesday, July 15th, 1936, aged 13 years. He was taken to the famous institution at Rochester by his devoted mother, Mrs. Harrison Lawrence (who was ever alert to see that he recured the best of attention possible) on July 4th after he had been treated in a local hospital for about eight days. His trouble was unusual and due to some malignant form of stomach trouble that failed to respond to the experts of the medical profession. It is stated that his death immediately followed an operation performed as a last resort to save him from death. Orville Perry was a bright and popular boy, a model in habits and his death was a great blow to his family and many young friends He attended military school in Kentucky last winter with his brother, Jackie, and was very studious in his endeavor to secure an education and equip himself for a future of usefulness. Besides his mother he is survived by the following brothers and sisters all of this city: Mrs. Frederick Hulme, Misses Sarah and Ethel Lawrence, Harrison, Jack and Tommy Lawrence. Burial followed in Hill Top cemetery. on July 22, 1936.3

Lawrence, 49, died Wednesday in a Hinton hospital after a long illness. Born Aug. 15, 1925, in Hinton, he was a son of Mrs. Rachel Lawrence of Hinton and the late Harrison Lawrence. He was a lifelong resident of Hinton, was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service, was graduated from Mullensburg Military School, was a member of the First Christian Church in Hinton, Elks Lodge and was a veteran of World War II. Other survivors include his wife, Mary; one son, Richard of Hinton; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret McFarlane of Bladensburg, Md., and Mrs. Mary L. Miller of Athens; one brother, Thomas of Annandale, Va; three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Hulme of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Sarah Heath of Milford, Va., and Miss Ethel Lawrence of Fort Lauderdale, Fla; and one granddaughter. on May 29, 1975.6
