Survivors include his daughter, Becky Perdue Steber; son, Kirk Edward Perdue (Seleana), Deborah Taylor Perdue (widow of Raymond Perdue). Algie was an animal lover who advocated for pet adoptions, volunteering at the Bedford Co. SPCA, focusing on older animals that deserved a "second chance" at the good life. As a longstanding Board Member of the Freemasons in Roanoke VA, and a member of the cannon brigade in the Sons of Confederate, Algie participated in numerous reenactments along the East Coast. Volunteering at the Elks Home brought him close to his love of the Peaks of Otter. As an avid outdoorsman he hunted numerous areas of the national forest as well as hunting trips to Wyoming and Montana. All in all a genuine person who preferred to look for the good in everyone and consistently strived to lead by example. Paw will be interred alongside his wife, Sue Ellen and son, Raymond Thomas Perdue in Evergreen Burial Park.2 He was buried at Evergreen Burial Park, 1307 Summit Ave SW, Roanoke, Virginia.2 He was born on May 13, 1933 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia.2,1 He married Ellen Sue Foster, daughter of Raymond Napoleon Foster and Iva Golda Poff, on February 16, 1957 at Roanoke, Virginia.3,1,2 Thomas Algie Perdue died on January 25, 2025 at Virginia at age 91.2

     Dr. Albert Asa Cannaday Sr. was buried at Fair View Cemetery, 3300 Melrose Ave. N.W., Roanoke, Virginia.3 He was born on November 18, 1863 at Floyd Co., Virginia.2,1 He married Jane Delaware "Della" Poff, daughter of William Henry Poff and Mary Jane Carr, on April 26, 1887 at Floyd Co., Virginia.1 Dr. Albert Asa Cannaday Sr. married Ruth Eliason in 1906.3 Dr. Albert Asa Cannaday Sr. died on February 22, 1934 at Grove Park, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 70.2,3 He Dr. Albert Asa Cannaday, of Lindenwood Road, Grove Park, died about 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon at a local hospital, following a brief illness. Dr. Cannaday was taken ill Sunday and underwent an operaiton on Tuesday, and his condition rapidly grew worse. Born at Floyd, Dr. Cannaday was the son of Dr. and Mrs. Asa H. Cannaday. His early education was receive in the schools of Floyd co.and later he attended Roanoke college. He acquired his medical training at the University of Virginia and at Bellevue hospital, New York City, graduating from the latter institution in 1938. Dr. Cannaday began his practice in Roanoke, and in 1898, after completing a special course, specialized in diseases of the eye, ear, nose and throat. He continued an active practice until stricken. He was at one time president of the Roanoke academy of Medicine, and was a member of the State Medical Society of Virginia and the American Medical Association. Dr. Cannaday was actively interested in municipal affairs and served one term on city council and a like term as city physician. He was a member of the Bayard Commandary, Lakeland Lodge, A. F. and A. M., the Shrine, and St. Mark's Lutheran church. Dr. Cannaday was married in 1889 to Miss Della Poff, of Floyd county. Three years after her death in 1906, he was married to Miss Ruth Eliason. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Claudine Day Cannaday; 7 children, 4 sons, Willard Cannaday, Alvin, Burney, and Paul of Roanoke; and 1 daughter, Mrs. H. O. Nichols, Norfolk, all by his first marriage; Albert A. Jr., and Dwight Eliason Cannaday, by his second marriage to Ruth Eliason. Also surviving are 2 brothers, George and Walter of Floyd Co; and 4 grandsons. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home in Grove Park, with interment in Fairview. Active pallbearers will be: Dr. Ira Hurt, Dr. D. P. Cannaday, Dr. R.I. Mason, Dr. J.E. Topping, Dr. C.E. Cundiff and Dr. G.M. Maxwell. Honorary pallbears will be members of the Roanoke Academy of Medicine. Services will be in charge of Dr. Luther Sieber, and conducted by the Knights Templars. on February 23, 1934.3
