He is survived by his ex-wife and devoted friend of 40 years, Gale Francisco; stepson, Jarrett Weeks (Candy); stepdaughter, Christy Wilkerson (Troy); beloved grandchildren, Alexis Wright, Madison Weeks, and Cadence Wilkerson; beloved great-grandchildren, Braedon "Brae" Francisco and Vanessa Wright; a sister who he loved very much, Karen Lee (Ricky); nephew, Matthew Lee (Katie); great-nephew, Evan Lee; great-niece, Anson Lee; niece, Mary-Kathryn Bailey (Ryan); great-nieces, Reagan and Olivia Bailey; uncle, Ellis Wells (Betty); aunt, Marie Campbell, as well as numerous cousins. He also leaves behind a caring and gracious friend and fishing buddy, Ronnie Bryson (Nita), and caring friend, Don Campbell (Tammy). Thanks Ronnie and Nita for your support and for being there so many times when he needed you. Graveside services will be held at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family would also like to thank Dr. William "Craig" Mitchell for his thirty plus years of ongoing service and care, as well as the ER and Cardiac ICU staff at Lewis Gale who were kind and caring in his final moments. Jerry was born and raised in Troutville, VA before settling in Farmingdale in 1972. Jerry had a successful career in the insurance industry for over 30 years and was the co-owner of First Jersey Insurance Company in Freehold. Jerry enjoyed bowling at the Howell and Ocean Lanes and he was instrumental in launching Parker Bohn III's career as a very successful professional bowler. Jerry was active in his community enjoying his many hobbies. He was a past Exalted Ruler of the Howell Elks Lodge #2515, and a member of the Ocean Lodge #89, F. & A. M. Jerry had a very successful career racing the #45 street stock car for many years at Wall Stadium. He enjoyed sharing racing with his two sons and most recently owned Kodie Conner Racing in NC and loved watching Kodie race. Other hobbies included softball, bowling, traveling, coin collecting, and playing the lottery. He spent most mornings with his granddaughter Madison, buying scratch-off lottery tickets. Above all Jerry was a devoted husband, loving father, and adoring Pop-Pop. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth J. Conner; and his brother, Wayne A. Conner. Jerry is survived by two sons, Pride Conner and his wife, Beth of Howell; and Shannon Conner and his wife, Melissa of Kannapolis, NC; six grandchildren, Keryn Northerner, Carsin Conner, Madison Conner, Zak Conner, Kodie Conner, and Dakota Conner; and two nieces, Tracy Huffman and Tina Bonds; numerous other nieces and nephews; and his business partner and brother-in-arms, Frank Reilly.⁶ He was born on August 19, 1943 at Roanoke, Virginia.^3,5,9 He married Ruth Janice Zeutenhorst on May 30, 1970 at Troutville, Botetourt Co., Virginia.^3,10 Gerald Eugene Conner married Ruth Janice Zeutenhorst on February 4, 1983 at Clark Co., Nevada.¹¹ Gerald Eugene Conner died on June 20, 2017 at Neptune, Monmouth Co., New Jersey, at age 73.^6,9
