She worked at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant and Kenrose Manufacturing. At 94 years young, she was featured on Channel 7, for being a full time, very valuable employee of 24 years for Collegiate Pacific Felt Products. She was a faithful member of both the Blacksburg Christian Church and the Centennial Christian Church located in McCoy. She taught Sunday School at both churches for many years. "Miss Laura" often visited the sick, elderly and lonesome taking them one of her famous cakes. She lived a life dedicated to serving others and made her dreams come true. She is survived by a daughter, Victoria Mae Scott of Christiansburg; a son and daughter-in-law, Lon David and Eileen Scott of Mansfield, Mass; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Leo and Ruby Scott of McCoy; a brother-in-law, Cecil Whitaker of McCoy; two sisters-in-law, Iris Maddox of Texas and Agatha Austin of Check, Va; four grandchildren, Jay, Matt, Jenny and Laura; one great-grandchild, Justin; and a special friend, Jo Ann Bingham.
