She died Friday at the Good Samaritan Center, Superior. Fern attended Eden school south of Wauneta, Neb. She was baptized as a young lady in the Little Blue River near Angus and was a member of the Nelson Church of Christ. She was united in marriage to Forrest Peters on Aug. 15, 1932, in McCook. To this union were born three children. Fern lived in the communities of Boulder, Colo., and the Nebraska communities of Angus, Wauneta, Holdrege, Hastings and Nelson. She was a member of the Eden Sunshine Club and the Nelson Quilting Ladies. Her hobby was quilting. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forrest, on Jan. 6, 1996; son, Wayne; grandsons, Bob Peters, Donald Peters and Dirk Cain; three sisters, Florence Maris, Mildred Beezley and Lila Prior. Survivors include daughters, Phyllis Yvonne Filer, Dacono, Colo., Mrs. Ronald Friberg (Delores), Nelson; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and six great-great -grandchildren. Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday from the Klawitter-Price Funeral Home Chapel, Nelson, with Bro. Tom Reppart officiating. Pallbearers will be Leonard Cain, Robert Friberg and Fred Kidder. Honorary pallbearers will be Gregory Bingham, Gregory Kidder and Michael Kidder. Interment will be in the Edgar Cemetery. Pallbearers were Leonard Cain, Robert Friberg, Fred Kidder, Merlin Prior, Larry Thornberry and Jim Woerner. Honorary pallbearers were Gregory Bingham, Justin Cain, Gregory Kidder, Michael Kidder and Gary Peters. on March 17, 2010.1

(Crandell) Peters, was born February 16, 1909, near Angus, Nebraska, and passed away Saturday, January 6, 1996, at the Good Samaritan Center in Nelson, Nebraska, at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 21 days. He attended school at Calvert Country School and graduated from Edgar High School in 1927. August 15, 1932, Forrest married Fern Adamson at McCook, Nebraska. They reared a family of three children near Wauneta, Nebraska. He thoroughly enjoyed his life as a farmer which included raising cattle and pigs. During these same years, Forrest helped in the construction of the Church of Christ building at Stratton, Nebraska, where he was deacon. As a part of his service to the church he made a trip to Utah for the first load of books for the establishment of the York College Library. Another trip Forrest was glad to make was to move Tom Silva's Braille Library from Stratton, Nebraska, to Billings, Montana. He assisted missionaries by helping support Master's apprentice students. Another way of serving young people was by being on the Advisory Board for Cornhuskers Children's Home. The greatest joy of Forrest's life was the contact with his children and grandchildren. He and his wife enjoyed the opportunity and companionship of being able to travel over the 48 states, into Canada and Mexico during their 62 1/2 years togther. Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Carrie Hattan; one brother, Herbert Peters; his only son, Wayne E. Peters; and three grandsons, Donald Wayne Peters, Robert Dewayne Peters and Dirk Gregory Cain. Survivors include his wife Fern of Nelson, Nebraska; two daughters, Phyllis Yvonne Filer and her husband Elbert of Arvada, Colorado, and Delores Marie Friberg and her husband Ron of Belleville, Kansas; one daughter-in-law, Arlene (Peters) Prince of Kimball, Nebraska; two sisters-in-law, Lila Prior and her husband Wendell of Imperial, Nebraska, and Lola Peters of Nelson, Nebraska; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 10, 1996, at 11 a.m. from the Church of Christ in Nelson, Nebraska, with David Reppart and John Wearden officiating. Music was provided by quartet singing "Each Step I Take" and "There Is A Place of Quiet Rest". Casketbearers were Hubert Hattan, Leland Maris, Scott Farver, Marvin Maris, Merlin Prior and Jimmy Peters. Honorary pallbearers were Ivan Schafer, Earl Adamson, Bruce Scroggin, Elbert Farver, Wilbur Hattan and Bill Melvin. Burial was in Edgar Cemetery near Edgar, Nebraska. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson, Nebraska, was in charge of the arrangements. on January 11, 1996.2

Banner County Sheriff James Snider identified the victim as Wayne Peters, about 30, of Kimball. Peters was working on a cable tool rig cleaning a well when he was caught in the hydraulic derrick and crushed. on December 9, 1966.5
