(Jim) Manning of Roanoke, Melvin Manning of Salem; numerous nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Gail Dehaeseleer of Roanoke. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2000, at the Copper Hill Church of The Brethren with the Rev. Dale Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in the Puckett Cemetery, Copper Hill. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd. The family would like to thank everyone for Prayers, phone calls, and food. Jenkins; her stepson, Calvin C. (Jim) Manning of Roanoke. 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her sisters, Hazel W. Wickham, Salem, Dorothy W. Tuck, Roanoke, Virgie W. Aldridge, Salem. Her brother and sister-in-law, Jackson L. "Jack" and Evelyn Wimmer, Roanoke; numerous nieces and nephews and her church family. She treasured her family and everyone that knew her was truly blessed by her love. The family will receive friends Tuesday 5 to 8 p.m. at Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd. A service to celebrate her life will be held at Copper Hill Church of the Brethren on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dale Bowman and the Rev. Maurice Wright officiating. He was a kind and caring husband and father who loved his family. He always put his family first. He retired from Montgomery County Schools after 34 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Martha Graham; brothers, Paul and Homer Graham; his sister, Barbara Cox; and brother-in-law, Jerry Cox. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Marsella; his daughter, Faye Lyons and husband Dustin; and his precious granddaughter, Kimberly, who referred to her grandfather as "Poppy." He is also survived by his brother, Neal Graham and wife Kathy; sisters, Bonnie Hawks and Beatrice Belcher and husband Guy; sisters-in-law, Alice Cox, who was a special caregiver and friend, Carol Sawyers and husband Jerry; brother-in-law, "his buddy" Aubrey Kozar and wife Sandy; sister-in-law, Shirley Graham; and special friend, Dianne Brown. Our family would like to give a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice staff, Sharon Shewey, Laura Mustard, Tim Reno, and Chaplain Jim Tunnell for the excellent care and compassion they showed Mr. Graham and his family. Private interment will follow in Beaver Creek Cemetery, Floyd.1 He was buried at Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery, 409 Ridgeview Road NW, off Rt. 8 N, Floyd Co., Virginia.1 He was born on January 6, 1949 at Floyd Co., Virginia.2 He married Marcella Hedy Kozar circa 1966.1 Wendell Dale Graham died on August 13, 2024 at Virginia at age 75.1

Evelyn Light died on April 6, 2001 at Simpsons, Floyd Co., Virginia, at age 97.7,10 She SHANK, Evelyn Light, 97, the widow of Tonsa Shank, died Friday, April 6, 2001, at the home of a grandson in Simpsons. She was born October 18, 1903, in Simpsons, Floyd County, a daughter of Brownlow and Ardella Prillaman Light. Her father was a teacher in the early public schools in Locust Grove District and later postmaster at Simpsons. In 1923, she married Tonsa Shank, whose home was a few miles from Simpsons. The couple lived in Columbus, Ohio, Roanoke, and Simpsons before settling in 1948 at Mr. Shank's homeplace. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978 and by brothers Binford, Julian, and Harris Light; sister, Corinne Light McNeil; and grandson, Larry M. Kesler. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sadie L. and Charles Benn, Alexandria; son and daughter-in-law, David and Phyllis Whitlock Shank, Arlington and Check; sister, Christine Vest, Simpsons; brother, Ralph E. Light, Rochester, N.Y; four grandchildren, Rodney L. Kesler, Simpsons, Eric I. Shank, Arlington, Jennifer E. Monma, Honolulu, Hawaii, and John T. Shank, Scottsdale, Ariz; and four great-grandchildren, Matthew Kesler, Tanya Kesler, James Shank, and Daichi Monma. Graveside services will be at Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem, on Monday, April 9, 2001 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lane Spiegener officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday and Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, Floyd. Arrangements by Wood Funeral Home, Floyd. on April 7, 2001.7
