He was born in Patrick County on December 2, 1924 to the late Benjamin Herbert Harris and Claudia Agee Harris Wood. In addition to his parents, Mr. Harris was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Harris and Rufus Wood; and his stepfather, George Wood. He had served in the United States Army during World War II, and had been a mechanic. He was a longtime member of Meadows of Dan Baptist Church where he served as deacon and trustee. Mr. Harris is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Lawrence Harris of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Wilburn Harris of Marion and Walter and Patsy Harris of Meadows of Dan; one daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Pat Thomas of Durham, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Matthew Harris, Andrew Harris, Phillip Bridges, Ben G.      Charles Edgar "Charlie" Bones was buried at Bones Family Cemetery, Rt. 1, Shawsville, Montgomery Co., Virginia.2,3 He was born circa 1869 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.4,2 He married Ora Elizabeth Conner, daughter of Sidney Rufus Conner and Arminta Lee "Pet" Akers, circa 1909.1,4,2 Charles Edgar "Charlie" Bones C. Edgar Bones, 69, eight years a deputy sheriff of Montgomery county, died at his home near Christiansburg Friday night. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ora Bones and four children, Edward and James Bones and Miss Ruby Bones and Mrs. Clarence Miller, all of Shawsville. R.F.D. Interment will be at the Bones burying ground. on March 19, 1938.3 He died on March 19, 1938 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.2
