Rev. William W. Mays was buried at Mays Chapel Cemetery, Penick's Station, Marion Co., Kentucky.3 He was born on May 5, 1797 at Amherst Co., Virginia.3 He married Elizabeth Skinner, daughter of Burdett "Burdit" "Bird" Skinner and Nancy Austin, on June 17, 1818 at Washington Co., Kentucky.1 Rev. At his residence near Penick's Station, in this county, last Saturday morning at 6 o'clock, after a long illness, Mr. W. W. Mays died at the advanced age of 84 years. He was one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of the county. He moved to the neighborhood where he died, about 64 years ago from Virginia, and has lived there ever since. He was married four times. His last wife died of cholera in 1873. He has been a consistent member of the Methodist church for a great number of years. He was buried Sunday at Mays Chapel and the minister who conducted the funeral exercises said he had for years been the pillar of that church. His death is mourned by a large number of relatives and friends. on June 18, 1880.2

John was born September 19, 1938 in St. Albans, WV. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 13 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, located at 724 Orange Ave. in El Centro, with Pastor Michael Beach officiating. John is survived by his daughters Faith Watson and Rene Barnhart and four grandchildren. on January 12, 2007.3

Moore, she was preceded in death by her father, William Henry, loving husband, Bobby Woodrum and sister, Myrtle Anderson. She leaves to cherish her memories a brother, Billy H. Moore and his wife Bonnie; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark, Pam, Mike, Carol, Jeff, Sandy, Scott and Donna. She was deeply loved by her five special grandchildren, Kevin, Laura, Beth, Kay and Jason; a special nephew, Dan Lucas and many other adored nephews and nieces. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to thank the medical staff of Roanoke Memorial Hospital and especially the nurses in VICU. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on October 6, 2006.8
