He was an active member of Calvary Tabernacle Church, where he loved participating in the bus ministry. Before retiring, he was employed by the Kroger Warehouse in Salem for over 28 years. Prior to that, he was employed by Associated Transport of Roanoke. Since retiring, he enjoyed traveling for A-1 Messenger Service of Roanoke and Snyder RV of Salem. Besides the time he spent with his family, his greatest joy in life was in helping others. Many friends will be left to remember the many times that he came to their assistance. The three individuals that will cherish his help the most, however, are those that received a "gift of life" at his unexpected passing. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. Ben Peyton and the Rev. Al Frank officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's North Chapel. Arrangements by Oakey's North Chapel. on October 3, 2000.4

She attended Eastgate Church of the Nazarene and had many life-long friends at Calvary Tabernacle Church. She was formerly employed at Carla's Hallmark and K-Mart in Salem. The family wishes to thank the many individuals that touched her life during her illness. Dr. Stephen Kennedy and the staff of Oncology and Hematology Associates, Dr. James Drougas, Susan Church, RN, the loving and caring staff of the Cancer Center, Third Floor Rehab Unit, Dr. Robert Heath and staff and the staff of Adventa Hospice.
