Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods by the Rev. Wayne Watts. Burial will be in the Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. Military graveside services will be performed by the American Legion Post 276 of South Shore. Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Another old pioneer and long time resident of Kansas City passed away when Mrs. Lydia M. Hall, 83 years old, died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Lydia A. Bonds, 321 Troost avenue at 6 o'clock last evening. She came to Kansas City forty-six years ago and settled on a farm in the eastern suburbs of the city. At the time of her death there were four generations of her descendants in the house with her. She leaves a son, Jesse Hall, a farmer living near Independence, another, John M. Hall who lives in LaCygne, Kas; a daughter, Mr. Mahala Reed of Maywood, Mo., and the daughter with whom she lived. The old lady was familiar with all the early history of this section and the thrilling stories that she used to tell of early frontier life would fill a book. The funeral and made arrangements have not been made. on September 3, 1897.6

Light, Jr. and his wife, Naldyne; brothers, William C. Light and Arnold E. Light; granddaughters, Donna Marie Feikema and her husband, Timothy, and Deanna Marie Hayden and her husband, Dan; and great grandchildren, Olivia, Emily, Anthony, Victoria, and Nicholas. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at the SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where visitation will begin at 9:30 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. A loving husband, brother, uncle and friend, Mr. Light will be remembered for his warm heart and gentle spirit. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kay Nado Light. Mr. Light is survived by his brother, Arnold E. Light of Pennsville, NJ; nieces, Patricia Gardner and Tara Galloway; great nephews, Patrick and Ian Galloway; great niece, Molly Gardner; and his very caring friend, Ms. Josie Williams. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday morning, July 29, 2014, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where family and friends may visit from 10:30 am until 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. on July 26, 2014.5

Survivors include two daughters, Martha Ann Colleran and Nora Lee Chestnut both of Ft. Spring; a son, George Simmons of Alderson; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at the Fort Spring Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Fort Spring. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. on October 30, 2012.3

Nichols and Marian Nichols. Special thanks to Hayley Martin for the wonderful care of her grandmother for the last several years and to the staff at Carrington Cottage and Gentle Shepherd Hospice for their wonderful care in the last months. Light, and Zane Light; and grandsons, Kevin and Christopher; and her former husband, Roy Martin whom she married on September 23, 1939 in Weston, Lewis County, WV. Survivors include: daughter, Marsha Dale Ray of Alderson; son, Richard Martin, Sr., of Oak Hill; five grandchildren, Robert Flack, II, Joseph Flack, Richard Martin, Jr., Deborah Lee Kincaid and Cara Lee Evans; six great-grandchildren, Katlyn, Alexandra, Shayanne, Megan, Erica and Kimberly; and great-great-grandchild, Caleb Ray McMillion. A graveside service will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Fletcher Addition of the Alderson Cemetery, Alderson, with Rev. Nathan Miller officiating. on August 4, 2013.2

She was 89. For years, Goodno was a deacon and circle leader at the Church by the Sea. "She had an ability to write a prayer, memorize it and deliver it the next day," said John Alden Goodno, her husband of 64 years. "She did that on many an occasion." But her great interest was flowers -- roses were her favorite. Goodno, a member of the Miami Beach Garden Club, traveled to places like Peru, Alaska and England to judge flower competitions. "She inherited this love of flowers from her parents," her husband said. Born in West Virginia, Goodno worked her way through Marshall University and later endowed the Reba Light Goodno Room as part of the Ericson Alumni Building. She was also a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority of the Coral Gables alumni chapter. She was a 25-year resident of Bal Harbour. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Dr. John Goodno Jr. and Edward Goodno; two sisters; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Church by the Sea. on October 28, 1993.8

She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1930.] Born March 20, 1912, in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Frances and Lydia Lowe Light. Mrs. Bergendahl was a long-time member of Mount Hope Baptist Temple and, at the time of her death, a member of First Baptist Church, Beckley. She was also a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class and Lydia Light Mission Circle. She was a former member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Bergendahl, on Jan 1, 1986; two sisters, Betty Prater and Mildred Rothwell; and a brother, Elvyn Light. Survivors include a son, Charles Edward Bergendahl and his wife, Ella Mae, of Roanoke, Va; a daughter, Sarah Ann Williams and her husband, Jack, of Alexandria, Va; three grandchildren, Amy Lynn Rush, Charles Allen Bergendahl and Eric B. Williams; and her dear sister and care giver, Eva E. O'Dell of Beckley. Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Melton Mortuary Chapel, Beckley, with Dr. David Carrico officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.4 She was buried at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.4 She was born on March 20, 1912 at Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia.2,4,5 As of June 10, 1934,her married name was Bergendahl.2 She married Charles M.
