(Jenny) Lawrence of Annandale, VA; four nieces and four nephews, including; Richard Lawrence of Hinton and her caregiver and companion, Mrs. Barbara Siefried of Hinton. Seldomridge, 72, well known retired railroad engineer, died at his home Monday morning at 7:15 after an extended illness. Mr. Seldomridge was born in Greenbrier county October 31, 1875, the son of the late William and Elizabeth Henning Sedomridge. He came to Hinton 55 years ago and was employed by the C. & O. railway until his retirement in 1947, due to ill health. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and the First Baptist church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Seldomridge; one son, Lawrence Seldomridge, of St. Albans; two daughters, Lillian Seldomridge, and Mrs. Hazel Bowers, of Hinton; two brothers, C. A. Seldomridge Hinton and Floyd Seldomridge, of Vago, W. Va; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Bartgis, of Hinton; two grandchildren also survive. Interment followed in the Greenbrier Burial Park. on April 8, 1948.4

Pallbearers will be Clayton Buckland, George Gwinn Sr., Charles Berry, Howard Lego, Fred Webb, Boyd Maddy, Clarence Nicely, Sam McLean, T. B. Youell, and Charles Boley. on August 18, 1961.6

H. L. Hout, pastor of the church in charge and Rev. H. I. Stevens, a former pastor, assisting. Hout made an impressive talk. The altar and front of the church were lined with floral pieces, last tributes of friends of the deceased. Interment was made in Hill Top cemetery, following the church services. A large number of friends and relatives attended the services. on April 5, 1928.4

(Spike) Light, 58, a former well known Hinton resident, who died unexpectedly Friday afternoon in Richmond hospital following heart attack. Burial will be made in Restwood Cemetery at Lewisburg. Mr. Light had been in ill health for the last five years, due to a heart ailment, He was employed by the Williams Printing Company in Richmond as a linotype operator, and became ill while at work. He returned to his home, but his condition became worse, and he died three hours after entering hospital there. He was born February 22, 1905 at Marie, and was a son of the late Walter M. and Beulah Lawrence Light, pioneer county residents. After attending Hinton schools he worked, as a linotype operator Daily News, and then Was employed in many parts of the country by various newspapers, as he was an expert operator. In 1933 he served several months as managing editor of the Daily News, but left here for a position in Washington, D. C., but for the last 10 years has resided in Richmond where he was employed by the Williams Company. He was a member of the Baptist church in Richmond, Survivors include his widow, the former Virginia Coleman of Hinton; one daughter Mrs. William Long, of Binghamton, N. Y., and three grandchildren. Other survivors include two brothers Albert, of Clifton Forge, Va., and Ben, of Hinton who is owner of the Bluestone Printing Company; three sisters, Mrs. Earl Barrett, of Richmond, Va. Mrs. H. A. Conway, of Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Walter Sampson, of Hinton. on May 24, 1958.9

April is lovingly remembered by her mother, Virginia Burchett; her brothers, James Hurley, Chuck Hurley, and Carl Burchett Jr; and her sisters, Stephanie Castaneda, Susan Boyles, and Angela Hurley; and her favorite cousin, Rhonda Hall. She leaves behind her cherished children: Lorenzo Hurley, Tandeia Hurley Pannell, and Mitchell Worrell II and his wife Amanda. April was a proud grandmother to Mya Dunbar, Davion Hurley, Cameron Hurley, Kayloni Dunbar, Harlem Hurley, Abigail Worrell, Ronnie Pannell III, Autumn Leftwich, and Raelyn Cunningham. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren Nevaeh April Stacy and Ariyanna Hurley. She also leaves behind her beloved furbaby, Bandit, along with many more family members and close friends. April's life was marked by her deep love for family and the joy she found in being surrounded by those she held dear. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
