He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kate Massey Lykens; twin sons, Patrick Lykens and wife, Lee Ann of Beckley, W.Va., and Michael Lykens of Whitesville, W.Va; sisters, Beulah Tincher and husband, Delbert, and Mildred Norris, all of Denver, Colo., Yvonne Goodgassel and husband, Ed, of Las Vegas, Nev; three grandchildren, PFC Amanda McPherson and husband, FC David McPherson, serving with the U.S. Army at Fort Richardson, Alaska, and James and Jason Lykens of Beckley, W.Va; several nieces, nephews; and numerous friends. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, June 27, at the Whitesville Presbyterian Church, Whitesville, W.Va., with CLP David Pettry, CLP Michael Lykens, and CLP Patrick Lykens officiating. Interment will be in the Pettry section of the Adkins Cemetery, Naoma, W.Va. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, W.Va., and one hour before the service at the church. on June 26, 2005.²
