He retired from Food City after 25 years of service and was a member of Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include: wife of 55 years, Willetta Nash Leonard; daughters, Arvella Williams and husband Mike, Regina Carrubba and husband Richard, Robin Watts and husband Ernie; grandchildren, A.J. and Andrew White, Christopher Carrubba, Stephanie Tate, and Michael Watts; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two nieces; and two nephews; special friends of 30 years, "Flip" and Dorothy Everts. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at 8 p.m. in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Joe Hudson, Andrew White and Brother Adam Sells officiating. Committal services will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and special friends of the family. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Boccarosa, Dr. Mann, Dr. Dixon, Dr. McSherry and Dr. Borsh. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:30-7:45 p.m. prior to the service. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff on the 2nd floor east at Bristol Regional Medical Center and to the nurses and staff of Medical Center Home Health. Also, a special thanks to the Wellmont Hospice House for their care and compassion. Survivors include a daughter, Connie Rice Duncan and husband James, Fruitland Park, Fla; son, Gary Rice and wife Karen, Bluff City; grandchildren, Scott Duncan, Chad Duncan, Jill Carson and Lance Rice; great-grandchildren, Lacy Duncan, Justin Carson, Jeremy Carson, Hunter Duncan, Zachary Rice and Issac Rice; sister, Joan Hicks, Abingdon, and brothers, Howard Clark, Biloxi, Miss., and James Clark, Ft. Myers, Fla. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday in Weaver Funeral Home Chapel, with Niles Kitzmiller officiating, assisted by Pete Booher. Burial will follow in Shipley Cemetery. Pallbearers: J.D. Morrell, Ernest Morrell, Randy Rice, Richard Rice, Dale Rice, Timmy Rice, Alvin Rice and David Rice. Honorary pallbearer: Wynn Beidleman. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Weaver Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.weaverfuneralhome.net. Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. on December 27, 2003.1
