Margaret Ann "Maggie" Wimmer Margaret Ann Wimmer, Oct 11, 1930 - Jun 18, 2018. Margaret Ann Wimmer was born in Anthony, Kansas on October 11, 1930 to John and Eugenia Wimmer. She was the youngest of six children, three brothers; Edward, Bill and Howard and two sisters, Audrey Burlie and Ruth Duncan. She graduated from Anthony High School in 1948 and decided to run for Harper County Treasurer and won. She was the youngest person to hold this office. Margaret Ann decided to move to Wichita where her sister Ruth and her family lived because of better job opportunities. She moved in with Ruth and her family. Ruth's husband worked at Cessna Aircraft and was able to get Margaret Ann an interview for employment. At this time data processing was just getting started and she got in on the ground floor with IBM and was given the job as head of data processing. Around that time, Margaret Ann soon became known as Maggie, much to the dismay of her Mother who never liked for her to be called Maggie, she named her Margaret Ann. Maggie loved gospel music and through this love she joined the Golden Stairs Quartet and they performed at churches, gospel singings and even made an album. She had a mighty voice and was their lead singer. They were often the opening for several of the big named gospel groups and she was fortunate to sing once with the Gaithers. After 10 years she left Cessna, IBM offered her a job in Tulsa training people in data processing. She moved to Tulsa with her son John, for a great new adventure. IBM sent her to Kenneth Hagin Ministries to assist them in setting up their data processing and, as they say, the rest is history!! She retired after 32 years from Kenneth Hagin Ministries, also known as Rhema Bible Church where she was the manager over data processing. As all of you can attest to, Maggie was a people person and never met a stranger. Maggie loved her family and all family gatherings where there was great food, laughter, and of course, card and board games, which she usually won. Her brothers and sisters spoiled her rotten. It is good to be the baby. Maggie loved Christmas, it was her favorite holiday. She loved having friends over to her house to help her decorate and then have snacks, hot chocolate and play board games, especially Scrabble which again, she usually won. Until just a few years ago Maggie always bought Christmas presents for all of her family, including all the nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and even great-great. She always wanted the list of what everyone wanted and made sure everyone was accounted for. Maggie loved her son and all of his family, especially the grandchildren. She loved when the grandchildren would spend the night and watch movies, since we all know she had a few to choose from. Maggie always, always had a dog. They were her babies. They really kept her company and she might have spoiled them more than her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eugenia Wimmer; sisters, Audrey Burlie, Ruth Duncan; brothers, Edward Wimmer, Howard Wimmer and Billy Wimmer. Maggie is survived by her son, John Wimmer and his wife, LeAnn; three grandchildren, Alana, Hannah and Jonathan, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends. Graveside service will take place at Forest Park Cemtery, Anthony Kansas.8 She was buried at Forest Park Cemetery, Anthony, Harper Co., Kansas.7,8 She was born on October 11, 1930 at Anthony, Harper Co., Kansas.7,8 She died on June 18, 2018 at Oklahoma at age 87.7,8
