She was a member of the B.P.W. in Oak Hill and was retired from The Kroger Co. with 40 years of service. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph "Jody" Crist and William "Babe" Crist. Surviving are two sisters, Helen Hurst of Selmer, Tenn., and Sue Shuff and her husband, Bill, of Ansted. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Crist and Nancy Crist, both of Ansted. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at 1 p.m. at the Ansted Baptist Church in Ansted with Pastor Larry Gawthrop officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens at Victor, W.Va. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ansted. Mrs. Hurst departed this life on June 10, 2008 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 82 Years, 1 Month, 16 Days. She is survived by three daughters, Helen Ellis of Selmer, TN, Kathy Arnold of Michie, TN, Elizabeth Garrison and husband Russ of Selmer, TN; two sons, Marvin Hurst Jr. and wife Velma of Prattville, AL, Danny Hurst and wife Kathy of Selmer, TN; a sister, Sue Shuff of Ansted, WV; twelve grandchildren, Jason Hurst, Toni Edwards, Craig Ellis, Keith Ellis, Danny Hurst Jr., Jeremy Hurst, Becky Weatherly, Jason Harville, Wendy Bowers, Chad Brooks, Michelle Brooks, and Logan Garrison; 20 Great Grandchildren; a host of special family and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hurst was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Etta Crist; two brothers, Jody Crist, and William Crist. on June 12, 2008.10,4

Hill was born on March 14, 1939 at Racine, Boone Co., West Virginia.6,3 She died on May 5, 2007 at Lexington, Fayette Co., Kentucky, at age 68.6,3 She PALMER, Shirley Hill, of Lexington, passed away Sat, May 5, 2007 at St. Joseph Hospital. Born in Racine, WV, she was the daughter of the late Jesse R. and Laura Vandall Hill. She was retired from Pulte Homes as a warranty manager. Shirley was totally dedicated to her children and grandchildren and enjoyed traveling with her sister and best friend, Ginny. Survivors include; three children, Toni Tendam of Raleigh, NC, Kathi (Mark) Williams of Lexington and Robert (Kendra) Palmer of Lexington; three grandchildren, Matthew Tendam, Lauren Williams and Malcolm Palmer; and one brother. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be 1pm Tue at Crestwood Christian Church, 1882 Bellefonte Drive, Lexington, KY 40503. Burial will follow in the Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be 11am until the hour of service at the church. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 1504 College Way, Lexington, KY 40502. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road is in charge of arrangements. on May 7, 2007.3
