Conner and his wife, Freda, of McGraw and Arlie Thomas “Tom” Conner and his wife, Sheryl, of Beckley; a brother, Tom Moore of Clearwater, Fla; 11 grandchildren, Beverly Castro, Diane Goins, Kerby, Timmy, Treasa, David, Lindsey and Patrick Conner, Libby Beckner, Thomas Harper and Stephanie Ellison; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Polhamus Jr. Bill is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Nelson Polhamus; son, Brian and daughter-in-law, Kenny; their children, Brian Otoniel, Sashiel, and Samuel; and son, Scott, all of Roanoke. Bill was raised in Newport News, Virginia. He was a 1974 graduate of Wake Forest University and received a Master of Science in engineering physics from UVA in 1976. He was employed by ITT EOPD, ITT GaAsTek, and retired from Cobham Electronics. He enjoyed hiking and was a fan of ACC football and basketball. Bill loved music, especially jazz, and played the saxophone. He enjoyed singing in the church choir at North Roanoke Baptist Church where he also served as a deacon. He was the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lowe, of Charleston street. His death was caused by injuries received in an automobile accident which occurred Thursday, September 3. He received a fractured skull. on September 12, 1925.5
