The family will receive friends from 6- 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2007, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, and other times at the residence. A service of death and resurrection will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2007, at Fort Hill United Methodist Church, with the Reverend David A. Rash officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery. He was the husband of the late Rebecca Conner Lee. He was born September 14, 1935 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of the late Donald Nash Lee, Sr. and Marguerite McNeely Lee. He proudly served eight years active and reserve duty in the US Navy, was a member of Fort Hill United Methodist Church and the retired owner of Classic Kitchens by Lee for over thirty years. He is survived by a son, Tracy Dean Lee (Maggie) of Salome, Arizona; a daughter, Ronda Ann Lee-Torres (Eric) of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, three grandchildren; Lauren Rebecca Lee, Turner Dean Lee, and Sebastian Lee Torres. He is also survived by his step-mother Doris Lee of Kalmazoo Michigan; brothers and sisters Mary Ann Feehan, Ruth Lee, Carol Anderson, Terry Lee, Timothy Lee, Susan Marietta, Barbara Longe, and William "Ted" Lee. Preceded in death by three brothers, Donald N. Lee, Jr., Dr. James H. Lee, and Thomas S. Lee. She was a high school English teacher in Shawsville for 35 years, retiring in 1978. She enjoyed teaching, she loved her students, and is probably most remembered for the quotes that she had her students memorize. Seven scholarships have been donated to students from the Verna S. Pearman Scholarship Fund since it was established in 2004. She served as a volunteer at Montgomery Regional Hospital for 17 years after retiring from teaching. She was a life-long member of White Memorial United Methodist Church in Shawsville and served as their organist for many years. She was a world traveler for as long as her health allowed. She will be remembered and greatly missed by all who loved her. A private intombment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. on January 10, 2011.5

     Thomas Monroe Pearman III married Martha Dickerson.4 Thomas Monroe Pearman III was born on March 20, 1945 at Roanoke, Virginia.2,3 He died on August 1, 2020 at Virginia at age 75.2 He Thomas Monroe Pearman III, 75, of Shawsville passed peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, August 1, 2020. He will perhaps be most remembered as an educator who, after teaching for more than 20 years in Roanoke City Schools, went on to create the aeronautics program for the Roanoke City Magnet School where he taught many young men and women to fly. The only thing he ever failed at was retirement, working up until the end — complaining and loving every minute of it. He is survived by his wife, Martha; son, Tony and his wife, Amy; and grandchildren, Alex and Gabe. Also, by amazing sisters on both sides of the family, Nell, Alice, Debbie, Peggy, and Lisa as well as their husbands, children, and siblings too numerous to name. on August 4, 2020.2
