Epperly Jerry Wallace Epperly, age 78, of Oak Hill, WV passed away on Monday, September 5, 2011 at the VAMC in Beckley, WV after a long illness. Born January 21, 1933 at Fayetteville, WV, he was the son of the late Ervin and Maude Minnie Martin Epperly. For many years Jerry was a well known, well liked salesman with Standard Coffee Company. He was former Vice President and Sales Manager at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill with 36 years service. He was a graduate of Collins High School where he was a member of the Red Devil football team and served his country as a corporal with the US Army during the Korean War. A daughter, Karla Elaine Epperly, one brother, Ervin Epperly, and by a sister, Loretta Legg preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Judy Ann Quesenberry Epperly of Oak Hill, his two sons, Jerry Lee Epperly and wife, Maria of Oak Hill, Charles Ervin Epperly of Oak Hill, one step son, Lee Lafferty of Fayetteville, WV, two stepdaughters, Claudia Kania and her husband, Ted of Oak Hill and Paula Reid and husband ,Charles of Charleston, SC, and his father and mother-in-law, Claude and Sylvia Quesenberry of Oak Hill. Also surviving are his ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren in addition to his brother, Larry Epperly and wife, Sharon of Goshen, Indiana, four sisters, Polly McClung and husband, Russell of Fayetteville, Kay Allen and husband, Joe of Oak Hill, Drema McClelland and husband, Wesley of Oak Hill and Wandaleen Shyblosky and husband, Larry of Lebanon, TN, sisters-in-law, Elaine Epperly of Dearborn, MI.and Joyce Cobb and husband, Mike of Oak Hill and by several nieces and nephews. The Epperly family wishes to extend a special thanks to Erma Adams and the hospice nurses at the VA Medical Center in Beckley, to Debbie Dees of the VA and James Blair, a very special friend. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Pastor Paul Bricker officiating. Entombment will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Oak Hill with military rites conducted by Oak Hill VFW Post #3110 Honor Guard.

Survivors include three children, Dianna Carter of Oak Hill, Penny Edwards of Winston-Salem and Edward Legg Jr. of Winston-Salem; four sisters, Polly McClung and husband, Russell, of Fayetteville, Drema Bowe of Oak Hill, Wandaleen Shyblosky and husband, Larry, of Crossville, Tenn., and Kay Allen and husband, Joe, of Clendenin; and two brothers, Jerry Epperly and wife, Judy, of Oak Hill and Larry Epperly and wife, Sharon, of Goshen, Ind. Also surviving are her six grandchildren, Shawn Carter, Jason Carter, Tiffany Carter, Michael Edwards, Jessica Edwards and Courtney Mabe; and a great-grandchild, Mia Carter. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Ellen L. File officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Epperly Larry Epperly, 77, of Elkhart, died at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Riverside Village. Larry was born February 17, 1935 in Oak Hill, West Virginia to Ervin Edgar and Maude Minnie (Martin) Epperly. Larry married Sharon Dunbar on Dec. 1, 1956. She survives along with a daughter, Dianne (Richard) Pierce of Wayne, MI; a son, Michael (Betty) Epperly of Ada, MI; four siblings, Polly (Russell) McClung of Fayetteville, WV, Wandalene (Larry) Shyblosky of Lebanon, TN, Drema (Wesley) McClanahan of Oak Hill, WV, Kay (Joe) Allen of Fayettville, WV; four grandchildren, Doug Pierce, Joshua, Jacob, Rachel Epperly; and one great-grandchild, Maya Pierce. Larry was preceded in death by two brothers, Ervin Jr. and Jerry Epperly and a sister, Loretta Legg. Larry was a Material Supervisor for Ford, Dearborn, MI for 43 years. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service Friday, April 20, 2012 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. There will also be a service at Highlawn Cemetery, Oak Hill, West Virginia at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012.

Mrs. Thomas was predeceased by one son, Calvin F. Thomas, sisters, Stella Dove, Roxie Jones, Edith Argabright and Elsie Akers and brother, Lynn McNeil. She is survived by a daughter, Loretta Eisenbeiss of Hyattsville, Md; sons, Jabe Thomas and wife, Betty of Christiansburg, Va., Arcel Thomas, now of the home; precious grandchildren, Ronnie Thomas, Keith Thomas, Dawn and Gary Eisenbeiss; beloved sisters, Velvie Williams, Roenie Alderman; and brother, James McNeil. Special thank you to her daughter-in-law, Betty who helped to care for her during her illness. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2000 at the Shawsville Congregational Holiness Church on Alleghany Springs Road. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the church on Saturday, September 30, 2000 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Richard Kingrea and Rev. Johnny Smith officiating. Mrs. Graham was a faithful member of the Shawsville Congregational Holiness Church for over 60 years. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ivan Poff, second husband, Nathan Williams and one daughter, Josephine Poff. She is survived by her husband, Henry John Graham; children, Hazel and Bob Wickline of Christiansburg, Irvin and Martha Poff of Salem, Lynwood and Norma Poff of Atlanta, Ga., Paul and Kathy Poff of Blacksburg, Juanita "Dot" and Billy Shepherd of Salem; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, James McNeil of Floyd; brother and sisters-in-law, Albert and Roxie Williams and Margaret Williams. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2001 at the Shawsville Congregational Holiness Church. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2001 at the church, with the Rev. Mike Spence, the Rev. Rick Collins and the Rev. Garry Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow in Congregational Holiness Cemetery in Shawsville. The family would like to express their appreciation to the New River Valley Medical Center for the care given Mrs. Graham and also to the many kind prayers, thoughts and concerns given during her illness. The family would also like to request in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to Shawsville Rescue Squad, Box 14, Shawsville, Va. 24162 or to the Shawsville Congregational Holiness Church. Arrangements are being handled by Horne Funeral Service. on May 31, 2001.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Havens Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Lane Spigener, Pastor Russ Wimmer and Elder Junior Conner officiating, with interment in Huffville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Wood Funeral Home, Floyd. Randy Kasch. Burial: 2:45 p.m. at Union Prairie Cemetery, Decorah. Friends may visit with the family Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home and Tuesday at the church after 9:30 a.m. Edna is survived by two daughters, Susan Sundquist of Madison, Wis., and Joan (Gene) Mollenhauer of Toddville; two sons, James (Verny) Ellickson of Mason City and John (Linda) Ellickson of Central City; grandchildren, Diana (Keegan) Mykris, Mary (Jon) Naslund, Kathryn (Colin) Atkins, Terry (John) Loske and Carina (Dennis Coonfield) Ellickson; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Bill (Sue) Howard of San Antonio, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, James; five brothers and three sisters. Edna was born the daughter of William and Bertha Epperly Howard on Feb. 28, 1926. She married James Eli Ellickson on Jan. 5, 1946. He died in 1982. Edna retired in 1985 from Rockwell Collins, where she had been employed for 27 years. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. on August 17, 2014.
