Born on June 15, 1934, he was the son of the late Charles and Clarice Leah Broce Ransom. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant sons, David Charles and Danny Lee Ransom. Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Mildred Jean Murdock Ransom; a brother, Clarence L. Ransom and wife, Shirley of Albuquerque, New Mexico; children, Loyd Franklin Ransom Jr. and wife, Kimberly, Cool Ridge, Christina Ransom Davis and husband, Dave of Ladson, South Carolina, Pamela Ransom Hedrick and husband, George of Locust Grove, VA; six grandchildren, Clint Ransom, Renee Hedrick Poulos and husband, Kent, Tara Hedrick Pascale and husband Gustavo, Alyssa Davis Johnson, Vanessa Davis Marsh and husband, Jimmy, Amanda Davis Petersen and husband, Mark; nine great-grandchildren, Cayden, Zayne and Raylynn Ransom, Karina and Laney Poulos, Ella Pascale, Jacob, Rachel and Lydia Johnson. Funeral services will be Friday, January 12 at 11:00 am at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Rollan Roberts will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Park. The family is receiving friends on Thursday, January 11 from 6 to 8:00 pm at the mortuary and one hour prior to the services on Friday. Pallbearers will be Clint Ransom, George Hedrick, Dave Davis, Kent Poulos, Gustavo Pascale, Jimmy Marsh, and Mark Petersen. on January 9, 2018.3

     Charles William Hall Charles W. “Charlie” Hall, 81 of Elkview passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at home. Charlie was an automobile mechanic for Camp-Burdette Oldsmobile, Britt Oldsmobile, and Royal Oldsmobile. He was a member of the WV Air National Guard, joining when he was a senior in high school. At the Air Guard, he was an auto mechanic, aircraft mechanic for a short time and then retired as Senior Master Sergeant and was supervisor of the motor pool with a total of 42 ½ years of service. Charlie was a member of the Clendenin Masonic Lodge AF&AM # 126 having joined in May of 1976 and was a member of Canaan United Methodist Church in Charleston. He and Pat had visited all 50 states either by car, motor home, or by air. He loved to take cruises and to scuba dive at the exotic locations. Charlie’s passion and love was camping, hunting, fishing, riding his “Harley”, riding his 4-wheeler, and most of all the 32 years he spent on Sutton Lake every weekend entertaining his friends and family water skiing, jet skiing, swimming, and making sure everyone had more than enough to eat. Surviving are his wife of 60 years Patricia “Pat” Thomas Hall, and his son Richard A. Hall and wife Cathy of Cross Lanes, grand-daughter Danielle Hunt and husband Ryan and their children Nora and Mara Hunt, grandson Dustin Hall and wife Tiffany. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.3 He was born on September 13, 1935 at Kanawha Co., West Virginia.2,6 He married Patricia Ann Thomas on July 5, 1957 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.2,3 Charles William Hall died on January 4, 2017 at Elkview, Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 81.3
