She had been a resident there for 36 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Earl W. King; brother, David E. King; and son, Earl Nelson Kidd. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Mary and Reginald Clark; brother and wife, Bobby and Vanessa Clark; sister-in-law, Annetta King; uncles, John King (Sandy), Richard Wimmer (Linda), Sidna Wimmer (Margaret); aunts, Sarah Quesenberry (Donnie), and Gwinn Angle; along with several cousins; nieces and nephews. Interment will follow in Stonewall Cemetery. on August 7, 2019.²

Roberts, of Van Nuys, Calif; brothers and their wives, Kelley Kidd and Barbara, of Floyd, Va., Lawrence Lee Kidd and Darlene, of Lynchburg, Va; sister, Mahala Hailey, of Amelia, Va; a hosts of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Ronnie retired from American Electric Power after 35 years; ending a father-son career as linemen for Appalachian Power. The family wishes to sincerely thank the kind and loving care given by Gentle Shepherd Hospice and neighbors and friends who have helped care for and support him and his family during the recent loss of his son and through his illness. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2008, at Oakeys Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Joey Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, Vinton.      Charles Philip Meador was born on January 2, 1988 at Columbia, Richland Co., South Carolina.^3,2 He died on August 13, 2010 at Salters, Williamsburg Co., South Carolina, at age 22.^2,3 He Charles Philip Meador, 22, of Georgetown, S.C., unexpectedly passed into the presence of the Lord, on August 13, 2010. He was born on January 2, 1988, in Columbia, S.C., to Philip Glenn and Leesa Peters Meador. Charlie was a 2006 graduate of Waccamaw High School, attended Coastal Carolina University and was currently a student at the University of South Carolina where he was majoring in Mass Communications. He was a member of Georgetown Presbyterian Church. Charlie had a zest for life. His gift of language, both written and spoken, was revealed through his poetry, prose and on stage where he came alive. He also had a gift in the visual arts and expressed himself with unique drawings and photography. A true Renaissance man, he left this world a better place through his many creative works. Cozmo, as his Pappy loved to call him, filled his days with the things he enjoyed. He appreciated the beauty of God's creation. He loved animals, especially his pets, Tony, George, Sophie and Nicola (Ninja, Little Cat). A history buff, he spent many weekends as a teenager participating in Civil War reenactments and was minoring in history at USC. Going to movies and playing video games were favorite pastimes, but mostly he relished the time with his good friends just "hangin out." Even though his time on this earth was short, he filled it and the people he loved with joy, love and laughter. Charlie, with his quick wit and bear hugs, will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Benford Leeson and Mary Ann King Peters, of Floyd, Va. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Edward Wallace Meador, and his sister, Sarah Payne Meador, both of the home; his paternal grandparents, Jack G. and Frances M. Meador, of Georgetown, S.C. (formerly of Roanoke, Va.); his aunt and uncle, Karen P. and John W. Hale, of Roanoke, Va; his cousins, Jason W. and Michele D.      Frances Nicely was buried at Southern Memorial Gardens, Dunkirk, Calvert Co., Maryland.¹ She was born on March 7, 1921 at Morris Station, Kentucky.² As of March 7, 1998,her married name was Vest.³ She married Ralph Morris Vest Sr., son of Morris Allen Vest and Ida Mae Cannaday, on March 7, 1998 at Carroll Co., Virginia.^1,3 Frances Nicely died on April 29, 2006 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 85.^1,2 She VEST, Frances "Fran" Wilson, 85, a resident of Floyd for 14 years and formerly of Waysons Corner (MD), died of heart failure April 29, 2006 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born March 7, 1921, in Morris Station, KY. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and reading. She was the mother of Edward R. Wilson who died in 1993. Surviving are: her husband, Ralph M. Vest; son, Robert Wilson of Davidsonville; two brothers, Morris Nicely of Covington, KY, John Nicely of Front Royal; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral service was held at noon at Kalas Funeral Home in Edgewater (MD). Burial in Southern Memorial Gardens in Dunkirk (MD).
