Surviving are his wife, Beatrice Dyer Gearhart; and children, Gary Wayne and Dorothy Gearhart, Carolyn Gearhart Roberts and Melvin Roberts, David Winslow and Donna Gearhart, Joseph Rockford Gearhart, Thomas Leslie Gearhart and fiance, Becky Miller; seven grandchildren; brother, Emory Gearhart of Salem. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Brethren Church with Pastor Butch Grow and the Rev. David Bain officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence at anytime, 1409 Woodland Ave. Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Buena Vista Rescue Squad. on May 22, 1996.1

Thomas Leonard Gearheart and Ella Rebecca Vest, on June 26, 1949 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,2 As of June 26, 1949,her married name was Gearhart. Mildred "Pete" Nixon died on March 20, 1993 at Buena Vista, Rockbridge Co., Virginia, at age 75.3,1,2 She GEARHART, Mildred Nixon ("Pete"), 74, of Buena Vista, died Saturday, March 20, 1993, at her residence. Born in Nelson County, Va., February 26, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Joseph and Annie Moxley Nixon. She was the widow of Isaac Laban Gearhart. Mrs. Gearhart was a member of, and was currently serving on the vestry of, St. Johns Episcopal Church of Glasgow. She was retired from Lees Carpet. She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy N. Smiley and May N. Stinson, both of Glasgow; one brother, S. Franklin Nixon, Glasgow; eleven nieces and nephews; and seventeen great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. from the St. Johns Episcopal Church with the Rev. D. Holmes Irving Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Buena Vista. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Buena Vista First Aid Crew, or to St. Johns Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Monday at Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington. on March 22, 1993.1
