Left to cherish her memory are her Daughter, Shanna Simmons (David); Son, Wesley Dove (Nancy); Grandchildren, Kara Simmons Jeffcoat (Josh), Lauren Dove Koke (Jeremy), Cory Simmons (Brandy), Weston Dove, and Frannie Simkins; Great-Granddaughters Karleigh Jeffcoat and Baby Koke coming soon, Great Grandson Logan Jeffcoat, Brothers George Epperly and Neil Epperly (Jackie), Sisters-in-law Janice Hodge and Dianne Dove, Brother-in-law Calvin Dove as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and numerous friends. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Vincent Lee and the staff of JenCare, Dr. Stacy Rogers and the staff at Virginia Oncology and the nurses and caregivers from Westminster Canterbury at Home for your wisdom, kindness, compassion and peace you all provided to us. Ernie loved spending time with family, hunting, fishing, Nascar and the NY Yankees. One of his greatest traits was that he never met a stranger.      Thelma Smith Thelma S. Epperly, 97 of Troutville, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. She was the widow of S. Earl Epperly. Her three brothers; Charlie E. Smith, Jr., William D. Smith, and Walter B. Smith, and three of her sisters; Belva L. Hall, Mildred E. Quick, and Evelyn Graham also preceded her in death. Mrs. Epperly was a talented seamstress and until very recently was still doing alterations. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Williams and her husband, Jim of Troutville, grandson, Jay Williams, granddaughter, Jennifer Lorman and her husband, Jeffrey, great-grandchildren; Janelle Lorman and Sarah Jessica Lorman, a sister, Darlene M. Graham, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at the graveside 3:00 PM Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg, officiated by Pastor Troy Mays. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the League of Animal Protection, 603 Poor Farm Rd, Fincastle VA, 24090. The family would like to thank the Staff of Amedisys hospice for their kind care.3 She was buried at Sunset Cemetery, 501 South Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.3 She was born on May 16, 1917.1 She married Sidney Earl Epperly, son of John P. Wickham, Henderson; a daughter, Mrs. Chester Sinclair, Henderson; a brother, Ed J. Wickham, Blacksburg, Va; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services were held Saturday, Dec. 3, 1983, in Crawford A. Crim Funeral chapel in Henderson, with the Rev. Ed Williamson and Dr. A.D. Lemons officiating.
