Sissy was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, R.J. Caldwell; sister, Geneva Short; brother, Roger Crawford; brother-in-law, Claude "Herman" Short; and nephew, Dwayne Crawford. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Debra Caldwell; granddaughters, Lisa (Jason) Jorgenson and Brooke Caldwell; brother, Wayne (Pat) Crawford; sister-in-law, Jennifer Crawford; uncle, Malcolm (Bernice) Crawford; one niece and several nephews. Thanks to all of her caregivers and Good Samaritan Hospice (Vanessa). A special thanks to her daughter-in-law Debra Caldwell who helped and cared for Sissy throughout her five and a half year battle with Alzheimer's disease, without whom she would have not survived as long as she did. Also a special thank you to Jennifer and Katie with Salem Terrace. A Graveside Service honoring Sissy's life will be held 1 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2019 at Huffman Memorial Park, New Castle, Craig County, Va. on October 26, 2019.4

Campbell, 87, of Roanoke, Va., passed away. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Campbell; mother, Kathleen Campbell; father, Ryland Campbell; sister, Doris Dobbins; and brothers, Gene and Clabearn Campbell. Jack is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Campbell, Leecena Griffith and her husband, Kevin; and sons, Jack L. Campbell Jr., Dustin C. Campbell and wife, Dana; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his best little buddy Yorkshire Terrier, Pebbles. Jack was a veteran of the United States Army and the Korean War. Upon returning from the Army, Jack served his community as a law enforcement officer in the City of Roanoke and Commonwealth of Virginia as a correctional officer. Jack will be laid to rest at the Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Va. on January 24, 2020.5

She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Minnie was a long-time member of Waverly Place Baptist Church where she enjoyed playing the piano and serving in the Children's Division for many years. She was born on April 1, 1914, to the late Edward and Nannie Dooley Wade and was also predeceased by her beloved husband, Les; sister, Audrey Wade Sears; brother, Herman Lee Wade; and a sister-in-law, Flossie Shepherd Wade. Surviving is a son, Leslie (Sonny) W. Campbell Jr., of Roanoke. Also surviving are many beloved nieces, nephews, family members and friends. She will be especially missed by her nephew and his wife, Jack and Betty Campbell; and her niece and her husband, Ahwanda (Wally) and Nick Jamison and their children, Jennifer Jamison Craver and John Jamison. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2008, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Dr. Wayne Sellers officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 13, 2008, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
