He was predeceased by parents, Minnie and Lindbergh King. Charlie was a master bricklayer. He was a wonderful father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend to all that knew him. Left to cherish his memory are daughters, Melissa Anne King, and Amanda Marie Wood (James); grandchildren, Charles Jacob King, Abigail Marie Wood, and Emily Ann Haring; and brothers, David and Daniel (Wayne) King (Carol). She is survived by her children, Ramona Lawrence and Joanne Taylor, both of Salem; Jenny Atkins, of Huntsville, Ala; Leeon Hibbitts and his wife, Rhonda, also of Salem; 15 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m. at Lotz Salem Funeral Home, 1330 East Main Street, Salem. The family will receive family and friends Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 2408 Electric Road, Roanoke, VA 24018. on January 31, 2013.10

Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Lotz Salem Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Edgewood Christian Church or the Salem Rescue Squad. on April 23, 1995.1
