     Alfred Thomas "Alfred Junior" "A. J." Sowers was buried at Sowers Family Cemetery, White Oak Grove Road, Floyd Co., Virginia.^4,7 He was born on December 6, 1928 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^4,7,8,9,10 He married Frances Elizabeth Duncan on November 25, 1954 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.^2,4,5 Alfred Thomas "Alfred Junior" "A. J." Sowers died on July 22, 2009 at Floyd Co., Virginia, at age 80.^4,6,7,9 He Alfred Junior (A.J.) Sowers, 80, of Floyd County, Va., passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2009. A.J. was born in Floyd County, Va., on December 6, 1928, and was the son of the late Alfred Thomas Sowers and Carra Viers Sowers. He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. A.J. was widely known in the community as "Captain" during his many years as a welder. His true passion was his family, friends, and farming. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth "Liz" Duncan Sowers; two daughters, a son, and their spouses, Kay and Michael Slusher, Charlotte and Frank Peters, and Ken Sowers and Kathleen Moran, all of the White Oak Grove area of Floyd County, Va; grandchildren and spouses, Jeremiah and Marzena Slusher, Matthew and Malinda Peters, Jesse and Jessica Slusher, Sarah Peters and Brad Spurgeon, and Rebecca and Jon Thomas; great-grandchildren, Dylan Peters, DeSiree Peters, Victoria "Tori" Slusher, Elias Peters, and Madison Slusher; and an aunt, Omega Long. Graveside services will follow at the cemetery located on the Sowers' family farm on White Oak Grove Road. Special thanks to Carilion Hospice of the New River Valley, as well as everyone for the many acts of kindness and outpouring of support during his long illness. on July 23, 2009.⁴

     Treva Mae Wheeling was buried at Dudley Cemetery, Fagg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,2 Her Social Security Number was 224-46-5783.³ She was born on October 7, 1937 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.^4,5,3,2 She married Kenneth Leon Martin, son of Dorris William Martin and Nina Victoria Cole, on November 6, 1961 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁴ As of November 6, 1961,her married name was Martin.⁴ Treva Mae Wheeling and Kenneth Leon Martin were divorced on March 1, 1973 at Floyd Co., Virginia.⁴ Treva Mae Wheeling died on January 25, 2010 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia, at age 72.^1,6,3,2 She Treva Mae Wheeling Martin, 72, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away suddenly on Monday, January 25, 2010, at home with her son by her side. She was preceded in death by her mother, Macie Bryant Wheeling; father, Oakley Wheeling; sisters, Helen Trump, Edith Gillespie, Rebia Scott, and Maxie Allen; and grandson, Travis Martin. Left behind to cherish her memory is a son, Larry Oakley Martin; brother, Buford Wheeling; sister, Christine Wheeling Akers; aunt, Norina Dudley; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. J. Michael Payne, Dr. John White, the members of the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, and to all the kind nurses and staff at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Interment will follow in the Dudley Cemetery in Fagg, Va. on January 26, 2010.¹

King on August 16, 1927.^1,2 Kerry Albert Keith died on March 17, 1991 at Montgomery Co., Virginia, at age 84.^2,1,3 He FLOYD - Kerry Albert Keith, age 84, died Sunday, March 17, 1991, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Bula King Keith; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Iva Tolbert, Edna and Tap Weddle, Shirley and Ralph Duncan, Peggy and Gordon Bishop, all of Floyd; three sons and daughters-in-law, Elmer and Delphina Keith, Floyd; James and Doreda Keith, Christiansburg; Michael and Martha Keith, Hampton; one sister, Edith Muncy, Floyd; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Spangler, the Rev. Ralph Spradling, and the Rev. Ralph Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Topeco Cemetery. on March 19, 1991.¹
