Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. June C. Jackson and her husband, William C. Jackson; three granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons, all of Baltimore, Md. She is also survived by seven nephews. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and many friends. Funeral will be Saturday, February 26 at Ambrose Funeral Home in Arbutus, Maryland. on February 27, 2000.5

While living in Roanoke, she entered the nursing program and later retired from Lewis-Gale Hospital and the Roanoke United Methodist Home. Pauline was a very kind and generous person who loved serving others. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Coleman Barbour and Crettie Furrow Barbour; husband, Emmett Howell; her son, Ben F. Bowman; two brothers, Carl and Raymond Barbour. Surviving are her son, Jerry V. Bowman of the home; a grandson, Larry Bowman and wife; three great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, June Bowman of Salem, N.J; sister, Bonnie Gilchrist of Baltimore, Maryland; a favorite sister-in-law, Donna Barbour of Annapolis, Maryland; several nieces and nephews; a devoted friend and former supervisor, Elsie Huffman. A funeral service will be held at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel on Monday, October 25, 1999 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Frank W. Feather officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The viewing will be from 1 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and the morning of the service at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel. on October 23, 1999.3
