Born Oct. 6, 1928, in Corrine, he was the son of the late Albert Crowe and Letha Mae Hall Crowe Farley. He had served with the U.S. Army during World War II having received the World War II Victory Medal. He was well known and much liked in the Princeton and surrounding area, having worked for the Betsy Ross Bakery in Bluefield, having operated the Texaco Service Station on S. Walker Street in Princeton and was employed by the West Virginia Department of Highways with the Security Department for the past 25 years. He was a member of the Kee Street United Methodist Church in Princeton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan G. Crowe George in December 1999; and a sister, Maxine Wiley Smith. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Margaret Louise Sarver Crowe; two devoted daughters, Brenda K. Crowe and Jennifer L. Crowe, both of Princeton; two grandchildren, Troy C. Price and Shelicia N. Billings, both of Lerona; one sister, Anna Mae Crowe of Frinceton; one brother, Preston Crowe and wife, Ann of Princeton; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with the Rev. David Jasper officiating. Burial will follow in the Hall Family Cemetery on the Halls Ridge Road near Princeton. Pallbearers will be Matthew and Jackie Barker, Steven Hamrick, Timothy Blankenship, Eddie and Butch McPeak. on October 20, 2000.8

Lilly, John Lee Lilly and Joseph Allen Hall, all of Princeton, and Paul David Lilly and Donna Lisa Gayle Musleh, both of Martinsville, Va; 18 grandchildren, 29 greatgrandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, brothers, William Paul Cecil of Christiansburg, Va., Robert L. Cecil and wife, Ila of Odessa, Del., James A. Everidge and wife, Norma of Lerona, and Earl C. Cecil of Princeton; and aunts and uncles, Bonnie Hall, Dorothy Harvey and Thurman Hall, all of Princeton. Mrs. Hall loved her dog Mac very much. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with the Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Hall Family Cemetery on the Halls Ridge Road near Princeton. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Agnes Virginia Shorter Agnes V. Shorter Hall, 93, of 168 Garden Oaks Drive in Princeton, formerly of Hall&s Ridge Road, died Wednesday, April 08, 2009 at Ridge Care in Princeton. Born April 18, 1915 in Princeton she was the daughter of the late Clifton and Fanney Davis Shorter. She was a member of the Johnston&s Chapel Baptist Church and was one of its first original members. She was also a member of the DMA (Don&t Mention Age) of the church, a Sunday school teacher, a homemaker, and an avid bingo player. Agnes was a wonderful wife and mother and dearly loved her five grandsons and four great grandsons. In addition to her parents, her husband, Stanley L. Hall; one daughter, Janet Gayle Farmer; and one brother, Homer Shorter preceded her in death. Survivors include one daughter, Virginia Winfrey and husband Harold of Princeton; one son, Darrell Hall and wife Floetta of Kenova, WV; five grandsons, Gary Winfrey and wife JoAnne, Mark Winfrey and wife Becky, David Winfrey, Darrell Hall, II. and wife Janet, and Bobby Hall and wife Sandy; four great grandsons, Matthew Winfrey and wife Courtney, Garrett Hall, Adam Hall, and Matthew Hall. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 10, 2009 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Jimmie Jones, Rev. Jim Nofsinger and Rev. Jim Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Born April 12, 1932 in Mercer County, WV he was the son of the late Ralph Freeman and Beulah Mae Hickman Winfrey. A loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, he was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. He was a faithful member of Johnston Chapel Church on Halls Ridge Road where he served on the Mission Committee, was head usher for numerous years, deacon, taught Sunday School, Don't Mention Age (DMA) and served on various other committees of the church. Harold served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He worked for 25 years on the Virginian Railroad, N&W Railroad, and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as the General Foreman at Mullens. Harold was an avid WVU fan. While his health permitted, Harold loved to hunt, fish and do wood working. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings; Jack Winfrey, Bobby Winfrey & Norma Smith. Harold his survived by his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Virginia Lee Hall Winfrey; Three loving sons, Gary Raye and wife Jo Ann Winfrey; Mark Stanley and wife Becky Winfrey; and David Scott Winfrey; Two grandsons, Matthew Winfrey and Jeremy Smith and wife Kristin; one great-grand son, Luke Winfrey and one great-grand daughter Rylie Smith; One sister, Phyllis Garner and husband Carl. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Harold Raye Winfrey will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, October 5th, 2018 from Johnston Chapel Baptist Church on Halls Ridge Road with Pastors Dan Thyng and Dr. John King officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 noon until the service hour at the church. Friends and Family will serve as pallbearers. on October 3, 2018.3
