She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Coleman Barbour and Crettie Furrow Barbour; husband, Emmett Howell; her son, Ben F. Bowman; two brothers, Carl and Raymond Barbour. Surviving are her son, Jerry V. Bowman of the home; a grandson, Larry Bowman and wife; three great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, June Bowman of Salem, N.J; sister, Bonnie Gilchrist of Baltimore, Maryland; a favorite sister-in-law, Donna Barbour of Annapolis, Maryland; several nieces and nephews; a devoted friend and former supervisor, Elsie Huffman. A funeral service will be held at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel on Monday, October 25, 1999 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Frank W. Feather officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The viewing will be from 1 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and the morning of the service at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel. on October 23, 1999.³
