He was preceded in death by a sister, Waneta Wolford; and a brother, Lewis Godwin. He was a member of the St. Marys Church of Urbana, and St. Ann's Church, Ruskin, Florida. Burial will be in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana. on March 12, 2001.³
