George Zacharias Pfaff Zacharias Pfaff - Research by Jens Mueller-Joppe in Germany indicated that Zacharias and Catharina may have had several more children that four males and one female listed. However, due to the fact that there were two Johann Zacharias Pfaffs (one married in 1733 and the other 1742), miner, listed in the parish records during this time period and the records were not definitive, Jens could not be sure which children were born to Zacharias and Catharina.
From the Clausthal (Lower Saxony) Parish records, it is certain that Zacharias Pfaff was the father of George Gottlieb Pfaff, he married Catharina Lehm in 1732, worked in the mines and was buried February 5, 1747. On the Burial Register listing it stated "(from the hospital and gratis)" which meant that the deceased was in the hospital and was ailing and in poor health. It also indicated that the deceased received a 3rd, 4th or 5th class burial service which was held in the late afternoon or evening in private with the priest rather than a special public burial service during the day which was more expensive. According to the German genealogist, this also indicated that Zacharias was probably very poor.1 He was born circa 1706 at Clausthal, Hannover Territory, Lower Saxony, Germany.1 He married Catharina Elisabeth Lehm/Lowe, daughter of Johann Lehm/Lowe and Maria Roper, on August 5, 1732 at Clausthal, Hannover Territory, Lower Saxony, Germany.1 George Zacharias Pfaff died circa February, 1747 at Clausthal, Hannover Territory, Lower Saxony, Germany.1
