A car Swisher was in apparently went out of control on Interstate 40 and landed in a creek upside down. A passenger in the car was also killed. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Strode. Flag presentation will be at the grave by members of the Hanner-Sharp American Legion Post 129. He was born Dec. 9, 1932, in Stillwater and hisi parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.J. Swisher, reside at 324 S. Burdick. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He married Alice Earlene Wecker, Aug. 11, 1952, in Big Springs, Tex. Swisher had worked in Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas and Arkansas with oil drilling departments. He had been with Unit Drilling Co. of Tulsa for the past seven years. He is survived by his parents, his widow, two sons, Ronald Eugene and Orville Earl, two daughters, Gwenda Kay and Dovie Ann, all of the home in Ft. Smith. Also surviving are four brothers, Leonard Gardner, Sapulpa; J.D. Swisher, Grand Junction, Colo., Ronald Swisher, U.S. Army, Vietnam, Dwight Swisher, Stillwater; eight sisters, Mrs. Anne Mick, Wichita, Kan., Mrs. Clara Langley, Ponca City, Mrs. Wanda Vollentine, Casper, Wyo., Mrs. Carol Penix, 713 W. Ninth; Mrs. Barbara White, 105 S. Lowry; Mrs. Lenora Devine, 1201 Ransom Dr., Mrs. Ruth Focht, Rt. 1, and Mrs. Sallie Brown, 1401 S. Springfield. Pallbearers have been named as Al Furman, Ivan Focht, Paul Brown, Douglas Penix, Aubrey Williamsm, Bill Cooper, James Langley, Lucky Letterman, Max Duncan and John Vollentine. on May 3, 1970.2

Survivors include three daughters, Linda C. Higgs, Kathey A. Harris and Angela Blankenship, all of Clifton; a stepson, Joseph Gentry of Palisade; two brothers, Ronald Swisher of Tulsa, Okla. and Ike Swisher of Stillwater, Okla; six sisters, Carol Conway, Barbara White and Sally Brown, all of Stillwater, Okla, Wanda Mertz of Casper, Wyo., Ruth Eigen of Galveston, Texas and Clara Langley of Ponca City, Okla; five grandchildren; and two-and-a-half greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard Gardner, Eugene Swisher and Darrel Swisher; two sisters, Ann Mick and Lenora Seals; and a grandson, Samuel D. Higgs. on October 5, 1999.2

She attended Oak Hill Grade School in Noble County and Eureka High School east of Stillwater. After her education, she was employed at Douglas Big Country Store. She later became the administrator for Stillwater Nursing Home, where she worked for a number of years. On Aug. 8, 1982, she married John Seales in Hugo. After the couple's marriage, she became the office manager at Certified Professional Services, retiring in 1993. She attended Victory Christian Church and was a member of the Lady Elks. Mrs. Seales was predeceased by two daughters, Susan E. Cobb and Katherine I. Flores; three grand-daughters; and one grandson. Survivors include her husband, John, of the home; six sons and daughters-in-law, Terry D. and Charlotte Langley of Edmond, Gary R. and Debbie Langley of Marlow, Johnnie E. and Deana Devine Jr., Kelly E. and Renda Devine and Randy L. and Argel Seales, all of Stillwater, and Johnny M. and Susan Seales of Ponca city; and two daughters and sons-in-law, J.      Darrell Lee Swisher was buried at Lanier Cemetery, McMurty Road, Stillwater, Payne Co., Oklahoma.1 He was born on November 24, 1943 at Stillwater, Payne Co., Oklahoma.1,2 He married Carolyn Faye Hopper on June 6, 1960 at Rowlins, Carbon Co., Wyoming.3 Darrell Lee Swisher died on October 18, 1962 at Electra, Wichita Co., Texas, at age 18; Died in an auto accident.1,2 He Two City Men Die in Crash. A grinding head-on collision by two cars Thursday night near Electra, Tex., killed four persons, including two Stillwater men. Dead in the crash are Darrell Lee Swisher, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville J. Swisher, 511 E. 15th St., and Eddie Earl Yount, 26, who resided with an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. L.R. Lease, 301 Berry St. Also dead in the crash, which reportedly occurred when the car in which they were riding veered to the wrong side of the highway, are Larry Davidson, 22, and Maurice Hood, 18, both of Electra. Fred Hamlin, about 40, Electra, carpenter, who was driving the other car, was taken to Wichita Falls hospital in grave condition. Swisher's wife, Carolyn, and year-old daughter, Marlene, were preparing to move to Electra this weekend to be with him. He was employed with the Goodman Construction Co. installing rural electric lines. Yount, son of Earl Yount, Cave Springs, Ark., and Mrs. Ione Burk, Tulsa, was a former brother-in-law of Swisher, having been married to Wanda Swisher until March of this year. He is survived by two sons, Scottie Earl and Stanley David, both of Newcastle, Wyo. Swisher was born in Stillwater, Nov. 24, 1940, and was married to Carolyn Hopper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hopper, 110 S. West, in Rawlins, Wyo. in 1960. He was discharged just this summer following a tour of duty in the U.S. Army. Also surviving Swisher are five brothers, Leonard Gardner of Sapulpa, J.D.
