She was preceded by her parents, Roy A. and Laura Byrd and her natural father and mother, George Benjamin and Ruby May Hendricks Byrd. She will be missed and remembered for her spirit of love and encouragement, her strength, and her strong faith. on November 10, 2013.²

Mr. Montgomery was born September 10, 1936 in Carrol County, Virginia, a son of the late Abraham Lincoln Montgomery and Myrtle Virginia Dalton Montgomery. He served his country as a U.S. Marine in the Korean Conflict. Al also was a long distance truck driver and worked for Richardson Waylon Electric Corporation and Associated Transport. Over the course of his career he earned several safe driving awards. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, the Agape Sunday School Class, and the Southwest Virginia Walk to Emmaus #145. In addition to his parents, Mr. Montgomery was preceded in death by a son, Roger Lee Montgomery; daughters, Debra Jean Carico, Virginia Montgomery Adams, Dawn Montgomery Tyler; and grandchildren, Kala Ann Adams and Ashley Renee St. Clair Chaffin.
