His hobbies included traveling, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, and riding his motorcycle in his earlier years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1969 and later earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and Management from Concord College and then a Master's Degree from West Virginia University. For the past 16 years he has been employed by the West Virginia State Tax Department as an auditor in the Property Tax Division. Over the years Richard had been a member of the UMWA having worked in the coal mines, worked as a manager of Shoney's in Princeton, Bluefield and Charlotte, N.C. Richard loved coaching his sons and other young people in Little League baseball and football and was instrumental in the construction of Gardner Field. He was an avid supporter of WVU football and basketball. Richard was a member of the Princeton Jaycees and Kiwanis and attended the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Princeton. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Charles Casey. Richard is survived by two sons, Richard T. Casey Jr. of Princeton and Charles Jeffrey Casey and wife Lesley Schumacher Casey of Sumter, S.C; and a daughter, Robyn Hudgins Belcher and husband John of Blacksburg, Va.
