Dossie was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on January 8, 1925. She met her one true love, Calvert, while they were both living in Maryland, and they were married on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1942. They bought their home in Garden City in 1947. Delores was a wonderful, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her hobbies included quilting, baking, babysitting and working with her roses. She loved to "jump in the car and ride" and also loved to sit in her swing on her front porch.She is now at peace in God's hands until we see her again.Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Calvert Conner; her son, Danny Conner; her granddaughter, Crystal Clinebell; her grandson, Jeff Mills and her great-grandson, Jeremy Kendrick. She is survived by her sons, William E. Conner and wife, Judy, Doug Conner, Johnny "Bodie" Conner; her daughters, Anna Harris, Cathy Plunkett, Frances Campbell and Gerald; her daughters-in-law, Donna, Joyce and Vicky; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; her sister, Wilma McKenzie and husband, William, of Finksburg, Md; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Amedisys Hospice of Salem, 1312 W. Main Street, Salem, VA 24153, in Delores' memory. A service celebrating her life will be held at Oakey's Vinton Chapel at noon on Saturday, August, 10, 2013, with Pastor Jeff Gardner officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2013, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. on August 8, 2013.3

William Edward "Bill" Conner William Edward “Bill” Conner, age 75, of Garden City, passed away on October 27, 2019, at home, surrounded by his loving family after a long courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born on April 11, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Calvert and Dolores Conner, his brother Daniel Conner and other family members. Bill was full of life, very adventurous, and very energetic. He enjoyed working and had a strong work ethic. He worked for the City of Roanoke for many years and owned and managed several real estate properties. He owns his own business, William E. Conner Concrete Contractor for approximately 38 years. His hobbies included traveling, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, and riding his motorcycle in his earlier years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Booth Conner; his son, Travis Conner; stepson, Kenny Wayne Wills, Jr; nephew, Doug Stiff; his grandchildren, Kori Wills and Emily Wills, Chase Conner and Madison Conner and a little dog named Lexi. He is also survived by his sisters, Anna Harris, Cathy Plunkett, Frances Campbell (Gerald Manning); his brothers, Doug Conner, and Johnny Bodie Conner; his aunt, Wilma Mckenzie from Finksburg, Maryland and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. The funeral service will be held at noon, Thursday, October 31, 2019, at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel with Rev. Jeff Gardner officiating. Richard Thomas "Rick" Casey Sr. died on February 9, 2011 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 64.2,5 He PRINCETON — Richard Thomas (Rick) Casey Sr., 64, of N. 3rd Street, Princeton, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 in Princeton after having spent much of the last year at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, Va. Rick is the son of the late Sgt. Major Raymond T. Casey and Frances Jeanette Conner Casey of Princeton. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1969 and later earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and Management from Concord College and then a Master's Degree from West Virginia University. For the past 16 years he has been employed by the West Virginia State Tax Department as an auditor in the Property Tax Division. Over the years Richard had been a member of the UMWA having worked in the coal mines, worked as a manager of Shoney's in Princeton, Bluefield and Charlotte, N.C. Richard loved coaching his sons and other young people in Little League baseball and football and was instrumental in the construction of Gardner Field. He was an avid supporter of WVU football and basketball. Richard was a member of the Princeton Jaycees and Kiwanis and attended the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Princeton. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Charles Casey. Richard is survived by two sons, Richard T. Casey Jr. of Princeton and Charles Jeffrey Casey and wife Lesley Schumacher Casey of Sumter, S.C; and a daughter, Robyn Hudgins Belcher and husband John of Blacksburg, Va. In addition, he was adored by granddaughter, Krista Casey Johnson and husband Jason; and grandson, Chad Casey of Johnson City, Tenn; granddaughter, Savannah Casey; and grandson, Preston Raymond Casey of Sumter, S.C; and granddaughter, Shanna; granddaughter, Shanna; grandsons, Zachary and Jakob of Blacksburg, Va. He is survived by five sisters, Joan Casey Ellis Lyons of Richmond, Va., Patricia Casey Basham of Chattanooga, Tenn., Mary Casey Walkup of Buckeye, Frances Casey Knowles of Van Nuys, Calif. and Maureen Casey of Chimaltenango, Guatemala; one brother, Robert Casey of Elkins; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2011 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Father Paul Wharton officiating. The West Virginia Honor Guard will conducted military services. Following the service, the family will honor his request, and his body will be cremated, and he then will be laid to rest with his father and brother at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
