They enjoyed many fishing trips to the Stellako River in British Columbia. They also enjoyed walking all over Roseburg and taking hikes down to Cow Creek Canyon. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry, husband Vere, Sister Iola Mathis, daughter Cora Lynn Miller, granddaughter Shana and her husband, Royce. She is Survived by her daughter Kathy Howington, Son-in-law Gary, grandsons Eric (Cheryl) Howington, Heath (Karen) Howington, Roger Bitner, and Dirk (Darla) Bitner, ten great-grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren, and caregivers who were very special to her. on September 19, 2017.3

Dr. Larry Courter, M.D., Osage Beach, Mo., and Dr. Gary Courter, D.O., Lebanon, Mo; seven grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. Burial will be in Miriam Cemetery in Bethany. on October 14, 1987.1
