F. Snider, passed away last Friday, March 2, at the family home near Willard. He had been sick with pneumonia just three days. Hurley was born near Rosston Nov. 5, 1924, so was 3 years, 4 months and 26 days of age. Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Kenneth and William, one sister, Loretta, and many other relatives. His grandmother, Mrs. A. L. Snider, and two uncles, J. L. Snider and wife and C. A. Snider of Lawton, were here for the funeral which was held at Pleasant Valley Union Church Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Florence Hall gave the funeral sermon and interment was inthe cemetery by the church. His grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Painter, of Omaha, Nebr., were unable to come for the funeral. on March 8, 1928.2

Cox, of Nampa; three daughters, Cheryl Sossaman of Alameda, California, Frieda Green, of Edmund, Oklahoma, and Charla Faye Woods, of Gage, Oklahoma; two sons, William C. Cox, of Guymon, Oklahoma, and James E. Cox, of Gage, Oklahoma; his mother, Flora Heidlehaugh, of Calistoga, California; two brothers, Rex Heidlebaugh and Troy Heidlebaugh, both of Buffalo, Okla; and five grandchildren. on June 12, 1973.4

He spent most of his life in law enforcement, serving as sheriff of Harper County, Okla., the chief of police in Ulysses, and served as municipal judge in Ulysses for 20 years. He attended Grace Bible Church, McPherson, and belonged to Foretravel Motorcade, and was past president of the Five-State Peace Officers Association. On June 26, 1964, he married DeLouis Smith Peery in Oklahoma City. She survives. Other survivors include: sons Tommy McEachern, Buffalo, Okla., Joe McEachern, McPherson, and Charles Peery, Raymore, Mo; daughters Sheryl Woods, Gage, Okla., Cindy DeVon, Enid, Okla., Kathy Reese, El Reno, Okla., and Connie Mead, Woodward, Okla; brothers Kenneth, Woodward, Okla., and Don, Woodward, Okla; sisters Loretta Ogan, Fresno, Calif., Sybl Vincent, Kansas City, and Carolyn Madison, Garber, Okla; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Charley; and a sister, Velma Read. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Grace Bible Church, with Pastor Rich Duerksen presiding. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m., at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Grace Bible Church, Hospice Care of Kansas, or the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home. on October 31, 2007.1
