He was born in Montpelier, O., in 1875, and moved with his parents to Kansas when he was two years of age. When he was 21, he moved to Bloomington, Ill., where he married Bertha Reed March 21, 1899. Mr. Rutter was employed by the Western Electric company of Chicago, where he was in charge of the installation of telephone switchboards in large cities in the United States. He moved to Idaho in 1915 and farmed until his retirement 10 years ago, when he made his home to nier. Since his retirement, Mr. Rutter has written a book which is in the process of publication and also several hunting stories. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and the Flier Masonic lodge. Mr. Rutter is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. N. L. Johnson, Filer, and Mrs. Delbert Modlin, Jerome; three sons, Edwin C. Rutter, Medford, Ore, and Harry and Roy Rutter, both Eugene, Ore; 11 grandchldren, four great-grandchldren and a brother, Herbert Rutter, Memphis, Tenn. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the White mortuary chapel with the Rev. Ernest Trapp of the Filer Baptist church officiating. Graveside rites will be conducted by the Filer Masonic lodge in the Filer IOOF cemetery. on April 6, 1953.6 He died on April 6, 1953 at Filer, Twin Falls Co., Idaho, at age 77.5,7
