She is survived by two sons, Paul (Buddy) Light, Marie, W.Va., Jack Light, Sr., Lewisburg, W.Va; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Lively, Princeton, W.Va., Mrs. Mildred Wegmann, Roanoke, Va; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlor, Hinton, W.Va. with Pastor Franklin Mick officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Church Cemetery, Marie, W.Va. Survivors include two daughters, Martha Ann Colleran and Nora Lee Chestnut both of Ft. Spring; a son, George Simmons of Alderson; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Fort Spring. on October 30, 2012.3

Nichols and Marian Nichols. Special thanks to Hayley Martin for the wonderful care of her grandmother for the last several years and to the staff at Carrington Cottage and Gentle Shepherd Hospice for their wonderful care in the last months. Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. on February 9, 2021.6

She was 89. For years, Goodno was a deacon and circle leader at the Church by the Sea. "She had an ability to write a prayer, memorize it and deliver it the next day," said John Alden Goodno, her husband of 64 years. "She did that on many an occasion." But her great interest was flowers -- roses were her favorite. Goodno, a member of the Miami Beach Garden Club, traveled to places like Peru, Alaska and England to judge flower competitions. "She inherited this love of flowers from her parents," her husband said. Born in West Virginia, Goodno worked her way through Marshall University and later endowed the Reba Light Goodno Room as part of the Ericson Alumni Building. She was also a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority of the Coral Gables alumni chapter. She was a 25-year resident of Bal Harbour. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Dr. John Goodno Jr. and Edward Goodno; two sisters; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Church by the Sea. on October 28, 1993.8

She was also a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class and Lydia Light Mission Circle. She was a former member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Bergendahl, on Jan 1, 1986; two sisters, Betty Prater and Mildred Rothwell; and a brother, Elvyn Light. Survivors include a son, Charles Edward Bergendahl and his wife, Ella Mae, of Roanoke, Va; a daughter, Sarah Ann Williams and her husband, Jack, of Alexandria, Va; three grandchildren, Amy Lynn Rush, Charles Allen Bergendahl and Eric B. Williams; and her dear sister and care giver, Eva E. O'Dell of Beckley. A native of Marie, W.Va., he was a member of West End United Methodist Church and the Wesley class. O.D. was an active and devoted member of the Masonic Lodge, a 55-year member of the Churchland Masonic Lodge No. 276, Portsmouth Scottish Rite Bodies and the Amaranth Court No. 6. O.D. served many times as the past patron of the Victory Chapter No. 16 and Driver Chapter No. 149 Order of the Eastern Star and was the past associate of Bethel Guardian No. 11. O.D. was predeceased by his wife, Elsye Light. He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Light Clark and husband Kim and Pam Light Shaffer and her husband Jimmy; two granddaughters, Dr. Pamela Marie Norris and husband Eric Lamb and Amber Marie Duke and husband J.T. Duke; great-granddaughter, Abigail Lamb; great-grandson, Alexander Lamb; brother, Burchell M. Light; sister, Elaine Brown; several cousins and nieces and nephews. He leaves behind a beautiful young friend, Mark Guglar and many special close friends. The burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. on November 2, 2005.2

Born Dec. 4, 1917, at Marie, he was the son of the late Hubert C. and Rosalia Sumner Light. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Orba D. Light, and a sister, Ila Higginbotham. Mr. Light was medically retired from Defense General Supply Center, Richmond, Va. He was the owner of Light's Mobile Home Court, Alderson, and was a member of Old Greenbrier Baptist Church, Alderson. Mr. Light loved his family and many friends. He was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and was a great sports fan. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, the former Miss Emma Ernestine Cooke, whom he married Aug. 18, 1939; two sons, Steve Light and his wife, Betty, of Colonial Heights, Va., and Darrell Light and his wife, Janice, of Foley, Ala; two daughters, Carole Light Stephens and her husband, John, of Maxeys, Ga., and Dreama Light of Alderson; a sister, Elaine Brown of Bradford, Pa; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and neph-ews; and a host of friends. Burial will follow in Alderson Cemetery. on September 8, 2007.3
