Connell and husband, Frank; greatgrandchildren, Kristin and Andrew Lawson, and Evan and Ethan Gwaltney; sister-in-law and husband, Loyd and Phyllis Hosfeld; mother-in-law, Marie Henley; brothers-in-law, Robert W. Henley and Tipton Johnson, sister-in-law, Connie H. Dudley; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Jimmy served in the United States Navy in the South Pacific during World War II, in the Korean War and during the Cold War, for a total of 12 years. He retired from Norfolk Southern Corporation after 43 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. He also loved trading and owning numerous cars, trucks and SUV's travel and the beach. Dorothy Marie "Dottie" Henley was buried at Mountain View Memorial Park (also known as Mountain View Burial Park), 5970 Grassy Hill Road, Boones Mill, Franklin Co., Virginia.2 She was born on July 19, 1939 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.3 As of circa 1960,her married name was Gwaltney.1 She married James Edward Gwaltney, son of Charles Edward "Charlie" Gwaltney and Virgie Ellen King, circa 1960.1,2 Dorothy Marie "Dottie" Henley died on February 11, 2017 at Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 77.2 She Dorothy Henley (Dottie) Gwaltney, 77, of Roanoke County, Va., went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, February 11, 2017. She joined her beloved husband of nearly 50 years, James Edward Gwaltney; and her parents, James Charles and Claire Marie Dillon Henley. A great-nephew, Austin Henley; and a great-niece, Brittany Henley, also preceded her in death. Dottie was a very elegant lady. She was a person who loved her family and friends without any reservations. A lifelong Methodist she was very dedicated in her faith and most recently attended Cave Spring United Methodist Church. Dottie was also a very diligent worker and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad with nearly 40 years of service. Her survivors include her sister, Connie Henley Dudley; her brother, Bob Henley; an uncle, James H. Dillon (Christine); nieces, Dana Montgomery (Tony) and Miranda Dudley; and nephews, Steve Spencer (Lou), Tracy Henley (Kim), James Henley (Sissy) and Troy Henley. Also surviving are her special friends, Linda Alexander, Earl and Marci Atkins; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boones Mill. on February 14, 2017.2

Akers; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Joe Williams, Donna and Bill Martin; grandchildren, Katelyn and Allie Williams; stepgranddaughter, Leanne Martin; sisters and a brother-in-law, Virginia and Cecil Mohler, and Marie Gwaltney; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Dottie Gwaltney, George and Louise Akers; half sisters, Myra Page, Doris Sledd, and Bernice Stout. The interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on October 17, 1997.13
