She moved to the Roanoke area in 1984 and eventually moved to Boones Mill where she lived for over 30 years. In 1992, she was elected to the Boones Mill town council where she served respectably. Virginia's greatest loves were her husband Claude, her children, and her gardens. She also attracted many species of birds with her feeders. Most of all, she was a loving mother, kind friend and a beautiful soul. on January 25, 2024.^5,3
