     William Everett Tripp was born on May 10, 1928 at Craig Co., Virginia.1,2 He married Mary Ruth Mayo, daughter of Joseph Thomas Mayo and Freenia Bell "Frennie" Wright, on June 26, 1953 at Craig Co., Virginia.1,2 William Everett Tripp died on July 30, 2015 at Virginia at age 87.2 He William Everett Tripp, 87, of New Castle, Va., went to his Heavenly home on Thursday, July 30, 2015. Everett was one of 11 children born to Frank and Mary Tripp on May 10, 1928. He was a member of the United States Navy during World War II and then in the United States Naval Reserve for eight years. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Everett was an avid gardener and enjoyed his woodshop making everything from birdhouses to furniture. His main passion was his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Frank H. Eakin Jr; parents, Frank and Mary Tripp; brothers, Lester Tripp, Lloyd (Bud) Tripp, Norris Tripp, John Tripp, and Clayton Tripp; and one sister, Evelyn Caldwell. He left behind his wife of 62 years, Mary Ruth (Mayo) Tripp; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Frank Eakin, and Angela and Clyde Elmore; three grandchildren, Robert G. Eakin, Morgan (Elmore) and Jessie Mabes, William Matthew Elmore; two great-grandchildren, Robert Michael Eakin and Autumn Grace Mabes; two brothers, Norman and Helen Tripp, and Maxie and Bernie Tripp; two sisters, Pauline Blankenship, and Barbara and Roy Dudding; two sisters-in-law, Violet Tripp and Laura Mayo Price; and numerous nieces and nephews including special great-great-nephew and niece, Jackson and Zoe Breeden. The family will receive visitors at Lotz Funeral Home Salem on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at 2 p.m. Memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. in our chapel with Pastor W.E. Koger officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Craig County Volunteer Rescue Squad or to the New Castle Volunteer Fire Department. on August 1, 2015.2

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ruth Gearhart Chrisman, one son of the home, James Edward ""Jimmy"" Chrisman; also several nieces and nephews of Norfolk, Washington D.C. and Roanoke. He served in the Navy during World War II and Italy. He was a service station manager for 25 years in Washington D.C. and upon retirement he moved with his wife to Roanoke in 1980. Gravside services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday in Bandy Cemetery with Pastor Wilmer Wagner officiating. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 11:30 until 1:30 Sunday. on September 18, 1998.2

Gearheart, on Friday, May 24, 2002, after a lengthy illness. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, Osborne and Mary Hartman; sister, Ruby Blancher; brothers, Charles W. Hartman, Frank W. Hartman and Clifton Hartman. Hazel was retired from Kenrose Mgf. Co. after 27 years of service. She was a member of Brookhill Baptist Church, where she had many loving friends. She will be missed along with her humble nature and smile. To know her was to know an Angel on Earth. She is survived by a sister, Onedia Weaver, of Roanoke; a sister-in-law, Ruby Hartman, of Roanoke; a special niece who loved and cared for her during her illness, Norma Jean Cox (Austin); also Shelba Kirby (Jim) and Loretta Walls (Ray), and many other caring and loving nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Mike McFalls for all the kind deeds you did for Aunt Hazel. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at Oakey's South Chapel with the Rev. Nate Wood and Rev. Wilmar Wegner officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's South Chapel.

He loved and is loved by his family more than any human could imagine. Next to his family, his joy and passion was his farm, land, and cattle. He was a World War II veteran having served in the Army Air Corp as an airplane mechanic. His earthly journey ended October 14, 2015 when God came and took him home. Left to cherish his memory are his wife and best friend for more than 64 years, Jaqueline Poff Blackwell; and daughters, Carolyn (and Doug) Sneed, Annette Blackwell, and Yvonne Blackwell; and grandson, Dan DeMartin (and Edina). He is also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the Carilion Hospice staff and his caregiver, Sandra Hartman. Interment followed in Restvale Cemetery (Head-of-the-River), Check, Va. on October 22, 2015.5
