She came to Alaska in 1984 and enjoyed spending time with her family, singing, camping, fishing and driving along any Alaska road. In 1986 she was diagnosed with Chronic Renal Failure. The doctors, staff and patients of Renal Care Group (formerly known as The Alaska Kidney Center), Day Break and Immaculate Conception Assisted Living Home were an important part of her life. She loved working with children and was employed by The Gingerbread Daycare Center as a part-time teaching assistant and taught first-grade Sunday school until her health prevented her from doing so. Her family wrote: ''Vicky's faith in God was a great power in all of our lives. She enjoyed the simple things in life and gave the greatest gifts of love to all who knew her.'' She is survived by her husband, Robert G. Shaver; daughter, Victoria L. Shaver of Anchorage; parents, George and Lillian Wimmer; brothers, Don, George Willard and Jerrold Dillard Wimmer; sister, Brenda W. Bland of Virginia; and many close friends and family in Alaska and the Lower 48. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Alaska Kidney Foundation, P.O.
