Penny was a 1962 graduate of Dupont High School and a retired teller with 25 years service at BB&T. She was also a member and Sunday school teacher at Calvary Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Danny at home; sons, Danny Monk and his wife, Anita, of Gahanna, Ohio, and Steve at home and his fiancée, Traci Bounds of Sissonville; daughter, Vickie Thomas and her husband, Rick, of Sissonville; grandchildren, Emily, Kara, Mariah, and Tyler Monk of Gahanna, Ohio, and Katlyn Thomas of Sissonville; brothers, Alton Garten and his wife, Leann, of Charleston and Thomas Garten and his wife, Brenda, of Rand; and sister, Dreama Smith and her husband, Dick, of Campbells Creek. Entombment will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories Mausoleum, Sissonville.
