After she married, she spent most of her life as a military housewife; she used to work in a ceramic shop at the Oceana Base, Virginia Beach part-time for a year and a half, she worked as a Nurse’s Aide in a convalescent home for two years. She had hobbies like growing house plants, ceramics and sewing for a while. She was also a history buff. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Evan Rhys Matznick. Survivors include her husband, Milton of 65 years of marriage; son, Kenny Priddy; daughters, Sandra Derello (Galvin), Denise Hegler (Dale); grandchildren, Joel Derello, Paul Derello, Marcie Matznick (Jason); great grandchildren, Tristian Matznick, and Jocelyn Matznick.3 She was buried at Colonial Grove Memorial Park, Virginia Beach, Virginia.9 She was born on December 12, 1935 at Roanoke, Virginia.3,4 As of circa 1957,her married name was Priddy.3 She married Milton Louie Priddy circa 1957.1,2,3 Mary Marchita King died on January 24, 2022 at Virginia at age 86.3

Wayne was a native and lifelong resident of Lawrenceville, Georgia, born on the Historic Lawrenceville square in the Kelly Clinic. Wayne graduated from Central Gwinnett High School, Lawrenceville, Georgia in 1963 and attended Gainesville State College earning an Associate's Degree in Business and a Bachelor's Degree from Bernau College in Gainesville. Wayne served his county in the United States Army in Vietnam and was a victim of Agent Orange, causing his cancer. He was proud of his military service protecting the citizens on the home front. Wayne's working career was at Lucent Technologies, first being Western Electric and then AT&T. He retired with thirty years of service as a Project Manager for Lightguide Cable and then set forth on a new career at Live Oak Hardware Supply in Lawrenceville, Georgia for ten years, until he became too ill to continue working. After his son Michael's death in an automobile crash he became very involved in The Compassionate Friends and took great joy in attending the Children's Memorial Garden at Rhodes Jordan Park in Lawrenceville. Wayne became a victim's advocate after losing Michael and worked tireless with the State of Georgia Government to bring about change in driving laws. He went public with his loss to bring awareness to driver safety. Wayne's greatest love and joy was his wife of forty-one years, Janice and his two sons, Jason and Michael. But, the greatest love was for his four grandchildren, Hannah, Wyatt, Asa and Charlotte (Lottie). Wayne was predeceased by his son, Michael Pattillo, parents and brother. He is survived by his wife, Janice Pattillo, son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Staci Pattillo of Buford, Georgia, grandchildren, Hannah, Wyatt, Asa and Charlotte Patillo of Buford, Georgia, aunt, Margie Pattillo of Mission Veigo, California, Wayne had many family members in Georgia, Virginia, Texas, California, and South Carolina. He leaves behind friends across the country. The Walter Alford Sunday School Class will be honorary pallbearers. Burial will be in Gwinnett Memorial Gardens with Military Honors at the Gravesite. on May 5, 2010.3

He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Clyde Turner; a son, James West Turner; and sisters, Reba Wallace and Zona Alouf. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and nature. Mr. Turner had a successful career with Peoples Life Insurance Co. for 38 years, where he was a leader among sales managers and received numerous honors and awards. He also served on the companys Field Advisory Committee. He was a member of N.A.L.U. Mr. Turner was a World War II veteran. Surviving family left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Alice West Turner; son, Steven and wife, Helen; grandchildren, Christopher Turner and wife, Amanda, of Greenville, N.C., and James Steven Turner; sister, Betty Galerneau and husband, Richard; brothers, Eugene and wife, Vona, of Greenwood, S.C., and Kenneth and wife, Ruth, of Salem; and extended family, Sharon and Randy Vinson, of Berryville, Va. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Oakeys South Chapel, with Dr. David Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Burial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakeys South Chapel, 540-989-3131. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Salem Rescue Squad, 201 South Broad Street, Salem, Va. 24153. on March 12, 2008.4

His Christian faith was the core of all he was, and he lived his life for God and inspired his family to do the same. He had been a member of Salem Baptist Church since 1965 where he served in many ways to include Sunday School teacher, a ministry sharing the Gospel with inmates at the Salem jail, and as a church deacon. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Frank was born in Check, Va., on June 11, 1934, to Terry Samuel and Ima (Saunders) West. The youngest child of six, affectionately known as "Frankie D." as a child, he lived in Check, Va., where his parents ran a store. He spent a lot of time with his paternal grandparents especially after a tragic heart attack took the life of his father in 1937 when Frank was only three years old. His father's parents and siblings helped raise him, his brothers, Terry, John William, and Richard, and sisters, Eura and Mary Alice, leading to his very close relationships with his uncle, John Grover West and five aunts, Mary, Erma, Alice, Willie, and Dolly on a farm in Floyd County that they affectionately called Westwood. Frank attended Check Elementary School until the family moved to Salem and he graduated from Andrew Lewis High School in 1952. As a college student at Carson Newman in Jefferson City, Tennessee, he met the beautiful Miss Jenny Helton who he made his wife on June 30, 1956. The newlyweds moved to Richmond, Va., where Jenny got her first teaching job and Frank began a Social Work graduate program at William and Mary University. Their son Mark was born in Richmond in October of 1957. Upon completion of his master's in social work, Frank quickly found a job at the Salem Veterans Medical Center where he worked for over 35 years while Jenny taught third grade in the Salem area. In November 1963, they completed their family with son David. Frank retired in 1992 as the Chief of the Social Work Department at the Salem VA Medical Center. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Eura Banner; brothers, Terry West and John William West; brothers-in-law, James Turner and Clyde Banner; sisters-in-law, Esther West and Bobbie West; daughter-in-law, Jennifer West; and nephew, Jamie Turner. Frank is survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia "Jenny" West of Salem, Va; son, Mark (Kathryn) and grandson, John of Floyd, Va; son, David (Denise) of Huddleston, Va; grandson, Sam (Lisa) and great-grandchildren, Chloe, Jackson, and Katelyn of Port St Lucie, Fla; his sister Mary Alice Turner of Salem, Va; and his brother, Richard West of Chattanooga, Tenn. A chapel funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, with visitation from 1 until 2:30 p.m., the service will begin at 2:30 p.m. Frank will be laid to rest during a private family committal service in the West Family Cemetery in Floyd, immediately following the chapel service. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the members of the Visiting Angels, Medi Home Health and Hospice, and the many compassionate caregivers who touched Frank's life at a difficult time. on October 22, 2021.3
