She was born in Shawsville, Virginia on April 25, 1927. She lived in the Wabun community most of her life. She was a faithful member of Green Hill Church of the Brethren and The Mamie Kinzie Women's Fellowship. She also spent many years serving others through the Wabun Social Service Club. Avalee was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She always met you with a smile, and chose to see the best in everyone. She was admired for her positive attitude, strong will, and selflessness. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on September 6, 2014.3

He enjoyed reading, golf, gardening, and hunting throughout the years. Burial following at Sherwood Memorial Park. on August 30, 2016.3

Mrs. Reed had been sick of dropsy for the past ten months and her death was not unexpected. The body was prepared by the Horine Undertaking Establishment and taken back to Jackson County for interment. Mr. and Mrs. Reed came to Cassville last May from Jackson County, where they had lived nearly all their lives. She was born in Virginia in 1837 and when just a small child moved with her parents to this state. She leaves three children, Jessee Reed, Mrs. Lydia List and Mrs. Anna Hall, all of whom live and Cassville. Funeral services were held here Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. T. Bratton. She had been a member of the Baptist church for many years. on December 9, 1920.5
