A native of Alexander, Nina Lee was a daughter of the late Aldolphus and Grace Sluder. She was preceded in death by her husband H.G. Justice in 1999 and by a sister Jessie Radford. Nina Lee was still active in selling Stanley Home Products after sixty plus years with the company. She was a member of Abernethy United Methodist church here she was a faithful member of the choir, active in the Methodist Women's Sociey and the Happy Abernethy Group. Nina Lee is survived by a son, the Rev. Henry Justice and his wife Renee of Charlotte. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Lee K. Black and her husband Randall and two great-grandcildren, Taylor Black and Hannah Lee Black. Funeral service for Mrs Justice will be held a 2:00 p.m. Monday March 19 at the Abernethy United Methodist Church with the Revs . Wesley Austin and Oscar Dowdle and Henry Justice officiating. Internment will follow in Sky View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour pior to the service at the church. The family asks that memorial contributions in Nina Lee's memory be made to Abernethly United Methodist Church, 1418 Patton Ave, Asheville North Carolina 28806 or to Givens Estates Resident Assistance Fund, 2360 Sweeten Creek Road, Asheville NC 28803. Rubylee White was buried at Dallas Cemetery, Dallas, Polk Co., Oregon.3,2 She Rubylee Courtney a resident of Dallas, Oregon went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 8th after a brief illness with bladder cancer. Rubylee Courtney was born at home on a farm near Meridian, Idaho on July 28, 1921. She was the only daughter born to Lee and Ada White. After attending Columbia and Five Mile Grade Schools, she enrolled in Boise High School, graduating in 1939. She enrolled later that year in Link's Business College, completing a Stenographic business course and working part time until completion of the new Boise Junior College in September 1940. Rubylee graduated in June 1942. She worked as a student assistant in various departments in the Business office at the school and upon graduation; she became a full-time employee at the college, working for 8 years until her marriage to Harry Courtney on July 8, 1950. She and Harry then moved to Portland, Oregon, where Harry was a construction supervisor for various architects. In 1956 Rubylee gave birth to their only child, Lynn while residing in Moses Lake, Washington. Shortly after Lynn was born the family moved to Portland, Oregon and then to Honolulu, Hawaii in 1960. Rubylee loved living in the tropics but after a few years the family missed the change of seasons and moved to Dallas, Oregon in 1964 where she has lived ever since. Harry and Rubylee loved Dallas and their home on the creek next to the Dallas City Park. After Harry passed in 1989, Rubylee continued living in the home until September 17, 2010 when she moved to the Dallas Retirement Village apartments. Rubylee was strong in her Christian faith and was active in her church at Salt Creek Baptist where she was a member for over 46 years. She was a people person who enjoyed visiting and interacting with other friends, neighbors or anyone else she met. She was known to frequently help other seniors with rides to and from appointments, church, or wherever people needed to be. She also enjoyed reading, telling family members she completed 512 books since her husband died in addition to reading the Bible from cover to cover four times. Those who knew her know Rubylee always had a sharp mind and had a remarkable ability to remember names and dates to everyone's amazement. She took pride in being able to greet people she met by their name. She always had a positive attitude and offered words of encouragement to everyone she met. Rubylee is survived by her son, Lynn, daughter-in-law, Geriann and two grandchildren, Kayla and Tyler who she was so proud of. Rubylee's warm heart and kind personality will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Funeral Services will be Saturday. March 17th at 1:00 p.m. in Salt Creek Baptist Church. Visitation will be on Thursday and Friday from 11:00 am until 5:00 p.m. in Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Interment will be in Dallas Cemetery. Funeral services wlll be held in Montmorenci Methodist church this afternoon at 4 o'clock with the Rev. Wade Thompson, pastor, the Rev. T. A. Groce, and the Rev. J. W. Parker officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 3:30 p.m. until time for the services. Pallbearers will be Charles Barber, Nell Barber, Billy Lindsey, Athol Grant Jr., H. B. Justice, and Nelson van Hook. Cousins will be flower bearers. Dunn and Groce funeral home is in charge of arrangements. For the past two years Miss Lindsey had been a teacher at the Tennessee School for the deaf at Koxvville. Sbe began the current term there this month but returned to Ashevllle Thursday due to her health. During the war she enlisted in the WAVES but while undergoing training at Hunter college in New York her health declined and she was discharged after a short time. A native of the Candler section, she was graduated from Sand H1ll high school. Her parents moved to Fletcher and when not actively engaged in teaching, she lived with them. She was a member ot Fletcher Methodist church. Survivors include the parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Lindsey; two brothers, Ted. F. Lindsey of Enka, and G. Ray Lindsey of Asheville; and three sisters, Mrs. T. Z. Barber of Candler, Mrs. A. L. Grant of Asheville, and Mrs. Pansy Huff of Washlngton, D. C. on September 17, 1947.4

Barber; daughter, Sandra Livesay of Asheville; brothers, John M. Barber of Middleburg, Fla., Stewart L. Barber of Hanahan, S.C; grandchildren, Charles and Clifford Livesay, T.C. Barber, Chris and Chad Barber. A memorial service will be at noon Friday at Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert E. Harris officiating. Interment will be set later. on February 16, 1995.6

Chad Barber of Okinawa, Japan; and one sister, Sandra Livesay of Asheville. Graveside servic~s will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shepherd Memorial Park, with the Rev. Arthur Bishop officiating. The family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Thos. Shepherd and Son Funeral Directors. on June 9, 1992.4

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Virginia Bowers Lindsey; two daughters, Misses Winifred and Martha Lindsey of the home; a son, Christopher Lindsey of the home: the mother, Mrs. Ted Lindsey of Ellka: four sisters, Mrs. Betty Brookshire and Mrs. Joan Fisher of Enka, Mrs. Margaret Presley of Arden and Mrs. Catherine Queen of Hamilton, Ohio: and a brother, Jack Lindsey of Harlem, Ga. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Groce Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Neils Larsen will oficiate. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park. Nephews will be pallbearers. on September 6, 1975.4
