She is survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harold Sr. and Rebecca Sink, and Edith and Jimmie Sowder; niece, Kym Sowder and her son, Joshua Austin; nephew, Harold Sink Jr; and cousins, Anita Blackburn and husband, Dale, Ron Agee and wife, Violet, Christine Arthur, Ricky Craighead and wife, Annette, Robert Craighead and wife, Lisa. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Oakey's South Chapel with the Rev. Tim Thompson and the Rev. Greg Fleshman officiating. Interment will follow at Copper Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. and from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at Oakey's South Chapel. on November 1, 2017.3

Carol Sue Poff Carol Short, 77, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 11, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas P. Short; parents, Marvin and Dorothy Poff; three brothers, Mike, Robin, and Kevin; two sisters, Dreama and Lynn; grandson, Michael Trail; and son-in-law, Billy Cofer. Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed. Family left to cherish her memory include her children, Russell Short and wife Sharon, Tonja Cofer, and Abbie Trail and husband George; sister, Debi Overstreet and husband Sam; grandchildren, Zach Cofer and wife Kelli, Tony and Casey Trail, and Chelsea and Mackenzie Graham; great-grandchild, Zaida Cofer; special friend, Peggy Booth; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. Burial will follow at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens in Roanoke. Poff whom she married April 26, 1946 in Floyd County, Va. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1989. She is survived by her companion, John Morris of Mechanicsvile, Md. She was the devoted mother of Brenda Frazier of Hollywood, Md. and Kathy Cooke of Mechanicsville, Md.. She was the sister of Theora "Ora" Guthrie of Salem, Va., Roscoe Agee, and Andrew Agee, both of Christiansburg, Va., Ruby Dyer, and Doris Hawley, both of Roanoke, Va., Francis Lewis of Newbern, N. C., Madeline Bonham of Midway Park, N. C., Floyd Agee, Jr. of Bent Mountain, Va., and the late Roy Agee and Elzora "Zora" Adams. She is also survived by five grandchildren. Mrs. Poff moved to St. Mary's County in 1952. Mrs. Poff worked for the St. Mary's County Public School System. She was a food service manager at Margaret Brent Middle School. She retired in 1986. She enjoyed bingo, quilting and family. She was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Chaptico, Md. Funeral services will be held in Christ Episcopal Church, in Chaptico, Md. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers for Mrs. Poff are: Floyd Agee, Jr., Jim Hawley, Franklin Hill, Dallis Hill, Bruce Cooke, and Sam Frazier. Honorary Pallbearers are Justin Cooke and Casey Cooke. on May 21, 2000.1
