Doris June Reed Doris Toth, Jun 17, 1928 – Jun 18, 2022. Doris J. Toth (Reed), originally of Bent Mountain, VA, traveled from South Florida to Heaven on 18 June 2022 to be reunited with Granddaddy after too many years apart. A much loved Wheaten Terrier (“Molly”) served as her travel partner and accompanied her on her journey to help her find her way. Doris lived a full and incredibly well-traveled life to the age of 94 and was preceded by her husband of fifty years, Elmer John, who went ahead to save her a seat. Doris and John moved to Rockledge in 1980(?), and she lived on the Space Coast for over 40 years. Doris served in the USAF Civil Service for many years as an Administrative Assistant to the Flight Surgeon’s Office. A devout Christian, she devoted many years to serving in local prison ministries and celebrated the numerous lives which were changed through this program. She is survived by her daughter Judy, a former flight attendant, school teacher, and current government contractor; her son John, former USAF fighter pilot (BRRRRRRRRT!) and retired airline pilot; and grandchildren Kaitie, John, and Peyton, all of whom were partly raised within the confines of Walt Disney World by their amazing grandparents over the course of many years and continue to visit the park with treasured memories to this day as a way to relive these experiences and the love shown to each of them by Doris. Doris was known by all to be a voracious reader of both novels and celebrity magazines alike, NBA basketball enthusiast, and Tiger Woods fan. Her generosity knew no limit and she will undoubtedly be missed by Olive Garden servers and Cracker Barrel staff throughout the continental United States. Even in her final days, she continued to make trips to the base commissary to ensure she had chocolates to pass to all her friends each time they visited. She will join John in Rockledge Memorial Gardens in what she joked about for years as their “final resting place,” but as she often told her friends and family, her new home is in Heaven!4 She was buried at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge, Brevard Co., Florida.4 She was born on June 17, 1928 at Bent Mountain, Roanoke Co., Virginia.3,4 As of April 19, 1947,her married name was Sims.9 She married Jacob Henry Sims Jr. on April 19, 1947 at Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., North Carolina.9 Doris June Reed and Jacob Henry Sims Jr. were divorced on July 20, 1954 at Roanoke, Virginia.10 As of December 15, 1965,her married name was Toth.11 Doris June Reed married Elmer John Toth on December 15, 1965 at Orion, Wayne Co., Indiana.1,4,11 Doris June Reed died on June 18, 2022 at Florida at age 94.4
